  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

Hmm..weird, when I look at my account, it shows the phone and imei as soon as I put the sim card on Friday. Will see what happens at the 72 hours
It does show the new phone with IMEI number in your account, but when you check unlock status, it does show unknow as of right now. My 13 prox max is showing the same which I just got it yesterday. Weird thing is that I bought Note 20U from Samsung and asked Tforce to unlocked awhile back and it got unlocked; however, the lock status still shows as it's locked at the moment.

Make sure you are looking at the right spot. I am also able to see my phone and IMEI when I login. From the main page, click on your phone line, then click the "Check device unlock status". If it says "Status unknown", etc, it's my understanding that it can't be unlocked until that changes.

ugh what a mess! My suggestion for BB would be just cancel the current order and process it as a walkin. And maybe manually take off the $100. Just a thought.

It doesn't matter. As the phone is not purchased through tmobile channels, it will be shown as unknown forever. But you can call/twitter in to have it unlocked. I did mine last time and unlock is almost instant, probably take 1-2 mins, reboot the phone then it is done.

I guess I was too complacent. The guy I dealt with was concerned that the promo bonuses weren't showing on his system, but his senior coworker told him to just process it the way it appeared in the system and it would be taken care of somehow. I shrugged and went ahead anyway. My paperwork doesn't show the bonuses. I took screenshots of the online order breakdowns and figured it won't take much to fix if I am overcharged. Do people think it'll be a big issue?

Speaking of charges, I am still not seeing any on my credit card. Is that unusual?

I didn't see the discounts correctly on the paperwork but I was charged the correct amount on credit card. I was worried in the store too but seems ok.

So what's the consensus with upgrading a line with EIP phone on it? Do we need to pay it off before trading in to continue getting bill credits or not ? I think I'm gonna unload 12 pro max

Maybe the phone registering with T-Mobile is completely separate from the unlock page then? Can you give me a timeline of when you got your iPhone 13 and when you were able to unlock it? I've messaged T-Force multiple times since Friday night and they've told me the same 72 hour timeframe.

I picked up my Iphone 13 on Friday, the guy that handle my transaction said their paperwork would show a $100 less then it would show online but the online price and deal will override what the store printout shown.

I had issues Friday at one Best Buy. Over the weekend I placed an order at a different Best Buy and went in today. Absolutely no issues with processing trade. Receipt doesn't show extra $100 trade value but I didn't pay anything, just what I paid online.
After the trade, Rep entered the sim number manually (after it didn't scan) and all went smoothly and asked if I wanted to activate and test or just wanted the box as is. I chose as is and she handed me the box. 20 minutes Tops.
It seems some Best Buys have their stuff in order with knowledgeable reps while others struggle to figure out ways around the hiccups.
