For some, paying less now and in total, plus not worrying about the credits, is worth it.
Random T-Mobile numbers are getting this error message after entering phone number and SSN. "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later." This is also happening on Apple's websites to those same numbers having the issues. T-Mobile is trying to fix the issue, but does not have an ETA.
So did some math and realized it's not really any great deal. (Good deal so far but you find better deals later if you are no in a hurry).

Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.

If someone in Marketing is calling the shots, hopefully they've learned that disappointment followed by surprise and delight is better for the customer than more disappointment. But this is Best Buy, after all, so who knows.
The phone was at the online order pickup desk, which they kept routing me to for 4 days straight. The computers at that desk couldn't do the T-Mobile trade in correctly. As a last ditch effort, they sent me to the mobile department. I have no idea why they didn't just do that in the first place. It took the lady at the mobile desk 2 minutes to confirm that she was able to do it. Apparently, I was the first one they were able to get this working with. There were about 30 other sticky notes for other failed T-Mobile pick ups like mine.
They just sent me home and told me to come back but the issue has not been resolved yet.
Could you let us know which Best Buy location? I am having the issue at the Best Buy West Hollywood. If it was the same issue, I want to tell the West Hollywood location to call the store and learn from there.

Ask them to process the trade in as if they were doing it onto a best buy gift card through best buy systen. In very familiar with that store
