  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

My account has 10 lines and upgraded 3 lines with no issue on Friday. 4 th phone got delayed so went next day to pick up. Initially they have trade in issue tmobile so could not able yo process. next 3 days they are telling same issue. Today i went and they said my account blocked for not upgrading at best buy. Contacted Tmobile and my account dont have any issue and no past due balance. All eip phones are paid off. After talking to Tmobile Best buy tired again to complete order but the order totally gone in their system and unable to find. My Best Buy account still ahowing its ready for pickup. After long discussion Manager agreed to check manually and find my order but best buy systems not able to proceed any further to complete order.

Did you order multiple with the same line? That may trigger them.

Sometimes they count cancelled order as well, not sure if bestbuy is doing that, but I know totalwireless does it that way. And I think they are limit 3 for this deal. Probally that's why your fourth one got cancelled.

Yes. That's exactly what will happen. It CAN be unlocked but it's brutal trying to find someone who knows what you're talking about and how to do it since the IMEI isn't theirs.

Someone else in this thread or the other one used a TracFone SIM first in their new iPhone and that means it's now locked to TracFone. It's hard enough unlocking a TracFone phone.. let alone one that isn't in their system!
I just got an iPhone 13 pro yesterday night from Best Buy, and today I called at&t, to my surprise, it literally got unlocked within 15 min, the duration of the call. The rep will send you a link and ask you to follow the steps, but of course the IMEI won't match an at&t device. The rep will double check (have no idea how) that it is indeed locked to at&t and that you did in fact add a line, and she will push a request for unlock and that's it.

How long have you been with TMobile?
What reason are you saying you want it unlocked?
Did you activate it through Best Buy order on the site?
I've been with them for about a year. I actually did go on traveling so that's what I told them. I remember last year when I was travel I also had a new iphone and asked them to unlock they did it right away but this time it was much more complicated. Last year was from Costco. I did activate through BB order page maybe on Sunday when I found out that I needed to do that. Though when I activated it the IMEI on my physical sim was not working and the ESIM IMEI worked on BB system. I guess that's what they used. Don't know if that would result in any problem since right it is actually the BB new physical SIM that I'm using

Shoot I lost 2 of my free lines.

To get these upgrades, I had to remove a government discount of $0.45 on my tmobile account.

Tforce told me nothing else on my plan would change, all my promos would be intact, and my billing otherwise would stay the same.

Lo and behold, after they removed the government discount, I lost my "2020 Line on Us" and "2020 Line of Us 2" promos (according to my account history and listed active promos).

I still haven't received my bill this cycle yet to confirm, but did i lose the promos for good? I'm waiting to hear back from tforce as they had to escalate the issue because they couldn't figure out why i lost the promos.

I am on the One plan with 12 voice lines,, including kickback, insider discount, netflix on us, free ipad data plan. I was paying $100 / month before this screw up.

The locking part is pretty clear - it will lock to the first SIM inserted. The method for unlocking is the wildcard factor. Long-term holders of lines with T-Mobile are getting 72 hour unlock through customer service. I am a "new" lineholder so I expect to wait 40 days. If I trusted Visible's new unlock methods I'd give it a try. They have zero experience with unlocking since they've sold unlocked phones since inception. I suspect they are sharing a backend process with Verizon who is their parent company. If you are comfortable being forever locked to Visible please try it and tell us what happens in 60 days.

I preordered max pro 128gb gray on the 18th for pickup on release date 24th. They updated that day that " This item has been delayed. We're working to get it to you within the next few days." since then no updates. And it says my order will expire October 8th if they don't get it by then.. I'm worried it'll expire and then I won't be able to get the $100 off deal. Anyone had a similar situation and it updated recently or anyone know what I should do? Thanks
