  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

I preordered max pro 128gb gray on the 18th for pickup on release date 24th. They updated that day that " This item has been delayed. We're working to get it to you within the next few days." since then no updates. And it says my order will expire October 8th if they don't get it by then.. I'm worried it'll expire and then I won't be able to get the $100 off deal. Anyone had a similar situation and it updated recently or anyone know what I should do? Thanks
I would make a new order

Change 'my store' to the store where you see the availability and then try to buy it from that store. I have seen this working this way

Chatted with T-Mobile via iMessage Business Chat on Sunday and requested an unlock. Was told 72 hours and I would get an email. Yesterday came and went and no email. Decided to try to put in a different SIM card just now to see. Lo and behold, it unlocked.

Also requested unlock via FB 9/28 and got a message back 9/30 that the requested was approved; however, it still shows "sim locked" and no go when inserted a non-tmobile sim. Message said "48 hours after receiving this email, follow the below instruction for unlocking...." I asked when the requested was approved and told 4pm 9/29. So will give it sometime for the system to update I guess...!

The locking part is pretty clear - it will lock to the first SIM inserted. The method for unlocking is the wildcard factor. Long-term holders of lines with T-Mobile are getting 72 hour unlock through customer service. I am a "new" lineholder so I expect to wait 40 days. If I trusted Visible's new unlock methods I'd give it a try. They have zero experience with unlocking since they've sold unlocked phones since inception. I suspect they are sharing a backend process with Verizon who is their parent company. If you are comfortable being forever locked to Visible please try it and tell us what happens in 60 days.

Dan
Im unsure if visible will be able to unlock even after 60 days since it wasn't part of their stock. Let's see if BB insists on activation when i pick up today. If not going to try with visible sim and worst case I'll unlock thru turbo sim method.

So for Tmobile through BB, you have to pay the total net of the phone upfront?

I did not receive any notification on the approval. Just checked the status on the phone. It is not even recognized as unlock on my T-mo account. I will test with a different sim to confirm but fairly confident if the phone shows no sim restriction, i'm good.

The guy just messaged me back on FB said the requested has been approved. I think he just forwarded the email from Apple or something to me. I could careless what it said on my Tmo account. My Note 20U still showing "locked" on my account, even though it was unlocked couple day after I bought from Samsung back in March. Yep, like you said as long it says "no sim restriction" then you're fine. I have 12 pro that shows the same mesaage and I have tested with a non Tmobile sim and it works. But as long as it still shows "sim locked" then I have to wait.

Edit: speaking of the devil, the device just got updated from "sim locked" to "no sim restriction" Smilie

Anyone still waiting on their pre-order? I didn't receive the delayed email and ordered 9/21 which still shows "we will let you know when it's ready for pickup". 128 GB Sierra blue pro max

Same here. I ordered 128gb graphite promax 9/21 and got the same message as your. If I place a new order, it say "should be ready for pickup on 10/15" I don't mind waiting as long as I get my phone and pay the price that was agree.
