  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

So I just purchased a new iphone 13 pro max on this deal and brought it home yesterday. I activated it on the best buy system and with TMobile. When I log in to TMobile account online I see the new phone listed. Next step I want to get it unlocked. So following the advice here in this thread I contacted T-Force on twitter. They are telling me they still see the previous phone on the system and I should wait until using it for a week to make sure it has updated in their system. Anything more I can do more to speed up this process?
Have you gone to your Best Buy purchase history and clicked set up your phone? This will not change your plan or anything but it will activate the new SIM card you were given if you haven't activated it already. You will need to enter the imei of the phone.

try to chat again tomorrow with another rep.
If you have time try again today, that particular rep probably just didn't know the process or was trying to get rid of you. I provided IMEI, the phone# the phone was sitting on and the phone model. I got a follow up on the third day that it was approved, even though I noticed it was sim unlocked 48 hours in.

Guys do you think iPhone 13 Pro is a worthy upgrade from iPhone X ?
I am really confused should I upgrade or wait out through next year.
I spent good amount of time in Apple store playing with iPhone 13 Pro and to be honest I liked the form factor of X over 13. X is much lighter and slimmer with hardly noticeable screen size difference (5.8/6.1)
The only reason for me to upgrade is X would further drop in its trade in value next year.
I have been using iPhone X since last 3+ years and I'm perfectly happy with my current phone. Battery obviously has degraded but not really bad.
if you like the iPhone X form factor, I would say to stay with it.
Even coming from a 12 pro to a 13 pro you can feel the weight difference
The only reason I upgraded was because the upgrade came out to less than $100 after trading in my 12 pro to Best Buy for $800

I recently sold an iPhone X for $400 in pristine condition
battery health at 80

How did you get it for less than $100? I am upgrading from a Pro 12 to Pro 13, both 256gb. Did you decrease your memory?

Edit: My total before tax is $199 to upgrade with the same memory.

I purchased the 128 version
I had a 12 pro 128gb, traded for $800 and then purchased the 13 pro 128gb for $100

I have like $150 in points that I never used so I redeemed $100
The rep did charge me a $10 sim fee.
I think it was due to it being done in store instead of online

yea, 128gb

These are some pretty crazy trade in deals
Glad Best Buy finally carries tmobile.

one thing I did notice, the 128gb iPhone 12 has less value than the 64gb iPhone 12.
I think the 64gb gets $600 and the 128gb gets $520.

Is it possible to trade in a new series iPhone to Apple, or does it have to be the last generation (in this case, iPhone 12) or earlier? Trying to weigh my options, just in case of a return/sell.

How does anyone order more than one phone to get the multiline discount? When I tried to add a second phone it showed me "This device can't be purchased along with the one in your cart.".
You need to complete the order, then you can buy another separately.

You mean trading in an iPhone 13 for another 13? Like if youre upgrading from the pro to the pro max or more storage? I suppose that is possible but they will probably low ball you. Better to return your iphone if possible.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Trade in for an Apple Gift Card. They don't list the trade in value gift card amount with the current series.

Sorry I do not know the answer to this, but in the past I've seen that it takes a few weeks before Apple accepts trade ins for current-gen iDevices. You'll likely not see anything for the iPhone 13 until a few weeks from now.

Yes that's what I plan to do. But I'm not sure how t mobile will know these two lines are part of a family for multiline discount. Do I just call t mobile after placing the orders to link those numbers?
