just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

So i am trying to order iPhone 13 Pro Max through Bst Buy. At the T-Mobile account creation page i keep getting an error "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now.".

Has anyone run into this issue? I have been trying since last night but no success.

Do I have to insert my SIM card and then I process unlock request or can they do it with the phone being un activated
I'm not sure about that. They might not see it in their system if you don't at least turn it on. Maybe someone else tried That and let us know.

The Best Buy employee activated mine and opened it to be sure I could make and receive calls.

Not seeing the extra 100$ trade in credit any longer. iPhone 12 was giving 620, now it's 520
What color are you picking? I noticed the black 12 has 620. The purple 12 has $520

When I did purple last week it was $520 and then this week it changed to $620… there is a glitch in there but I'm not sure if it will be fixed again before the sale is over

I had this same problem and had to go in-store to make my purchase. I was told they were having issues with their system on account of the T-Mobile/Sprint merger + the surge of activity caused by the new iPhone release. Basically, the online portal is not allowing new accounts to be created in some situations but if you go in-store then the Best Buy employee can manually override the system to create a new T-Mobile account and process the transaction (in my case it also required the Best Buy employee to call T-Mobile for a manual review and hand me the phone so that I could answer a few questions).

It was a real pain to get the runaround for several days but ultimately the in-store employee got it fixed and I was able to do the trade-in to get the new iPhone.

It was only $520 for the purple one if you said you were trading in a t-mobile device. Switch to Sprint and it goes up to $620. That trick worked for a bunch of other types of trade-ins as well. Of course, the BBY employees don't check or care as long as the device works and doesn't have damage.

BestBuy told me right away they can't activate T-Mobile accounts in the store, they can call T-Mobile but said it's a long wait and to just go to the T-Mobile store instead.

I went to the T-mobile store and they activated the new sim within 1 minute and I was all set.

For me, I kept getting that error because I had recently converted from a Tmobile business account to personal, but the rep forgot to change my apple watch line from business to personal. Once they switched that, best buy would work

If you have a Tmobile business account, Best buy CANNOT upgrade your lines

Try using incognito mode in your browser. I had that error in the app but it let me complete the order through incognito in chrome.

Just a heads-up.

I just spoke with Best Buy chat support. The guy I spoke with said that the $100 activation discount ends at 11:59PM CST today. Sales always are updated on Sundays - it is of course possible that the promo continues next week, but we wont know until tomorrow (his words were "new sales will be updated tomorrow", whether that means there will be a new continuation of the deal or not, I can't say). I asked what the deal will be for Sunday and he couldn't tell me for obvious reasons.

Regarding the trade-in promo, the guy essentially said it is active until they run out. In other words, they will end the promo when they hit the limit of redemptions, which is nothing new for Best Buy. This occurred with the Samsung laptop trade-in from like 4 years ago. There was a deal to receive a $150 towards the purchase of a new Samsung laptop if you traded in a working laptop with charger. They didn't care what you traded in, as long as it was functioning...heh. And the $150 was in the form of a $75 coupon, which I'm sure no one used, and a $75 Best Buy gift card, which is what everyone was after. Man, people blew threw the deal quick. It was available one day, gone the next.

So, he who wants to use this deal should probably look into doing it like...today.

A family member of mine placed an order already but it was back-ordered and have no idea when it's going to be available for pickup, would this mean that their order & trade-in price would still be honored even if the sale was over?
