  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

There's some available in the city right now if you look. I would place a new order and then cancel your original once you've picked it up.

After we get the phone unlocked and it says "no sim restrictions" then can we cancel T-Mobile service without any issue? Can we ask them to adjust the bill down as well? Is it better to cancel over the phone or in store?

I found availabilities at Union Square store for pick up today; I placed a new order and after confirmation email I went back and cancelled the previous order.
Now the problem came, bestbuy sent order cancel confirmation email says"Your mobile device was successfully activated, and you may be charged for service. Call your carrier's customer service to cancel". How come they said they've already activated the mobile device? I called bestbuy twice today they said they don't have the iphone 13 in stock and they are trying hard to find stock from carrier.

Just got my unlock from T-Force. I messaged them the same day I got my iPhone and they told me they'd get back to me in 3 days. 3 days later (today) they messaged me back and told me that my unlock was denied because i was ineligible, and no further explanation.

I asked why a couple hours later hoping i'd get a new agent (I did), who said she'd check and confirm the reason and let me know. 20 minutes later she replied to me and told me that i was in fact eligible and that they processed the unlock. Sure enough, checked my iphone settings and "SIM Locked" has now been replaced with "No carrier restrictions".

Tl;dr: If they don't process your unlock, keep trying, it WILL work eventually.
Did you have to use your phone with T-Mobile SIM card or was it still sealed

You need to be an authorized user on the account. Add authorized users by call 611 or using t-mobile text Twitter support.

And you need the last 4 digits of the primary's SSN at the time you pickup. And of course a photo ID.

You shouldn't need it, but I also brought the account holder's phone with me in case they needed to verify it somehow.
" And of course a photo ID." The account holder's ID? That would be tough.

No, a photo ID showing that you are one of the authorized users.

Quick question. I just paid off one of my iPhones that was on a T-Mobile EIP. It is fully paid off, but still locked to T-Mobile since I had moved SIMs within the family phones a week or two ago.

Even if LOCKED to T-Mobile (and I selected it was a T-Mobile phone for the trade-in), there should be no issue with the trade as long as it is fully PAID OFF, correct? Thanks!
There wouldn't be any issues trading regardless of Eip / locked / blacklisted . As long as phone from any company is not iCloud locked or broken screen

Congrats on your pick up and don't worry about the cancellation email.
