Just about every website is offering up to $1000 for iPhone 13. However, here is a strategy that is an inexpensive solution to get an $800 trade in credit.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cond...1804983518

Go to eBay to find an unlocked S9. Most S9's are going for $90-$140. Use this phone as a trade in. Be sure and check the description for the condition of the S9 phones. If the phones are cracked or have spots you won't receive the full $800 promo credit.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...9&_sacat=0

Also you will need to have the Play More, Do More or Get More Unlimited plans. Great deal for such a great strategy. All together you should net around $650-$700 for trading in an S9.

Got excited to trade in my phone for $350 and found out I'd be forced to change my plan to one that is $10/month more, effectively negating the savings over what I expect to be 3 years of owning the phone. 15 years as a customer and this is the best they can do smh.

Will Verizon have a problem with a refurbished or "renewed" phone for trade in?

Yes that is correct! Not even a clean IMEI is necessary through Best Buy. Just as long as it turns on and no cracks. 👍
Not true. "Most trade-in conditions are accepted except:.......or if device is on lost/stolen list". A stolen/lost phone will definitely negate it from this deal.

Does anyone know if you can trade in more than 1 phone towards 1 upgrade?
Scratch this, see someone already asked basically.

its not that bad if you are on a family plan w 5+ ppl
Which plan you on? I am on an older plan and sadly doing this promo means having to forcefully switch to a more expensive plan. Not worth it for a family of 5+

Terms and conditions state at the very end that "Excludes prepaid and unlocked phones." And the ones being sold on EBay are unlocked phones. So they may not qualify

If the bill credits is over 2 years, does that mean that I have to keep the phone for 2 years and can't use it for another trade in to upgrade my phone in a year?

True cost is with plan upgrade let's say you're buying 128Gb pro. 12.5*24 +10*24 plan change+128 taxes and activation = roughly 665$ without old phone trade in price

This offer is meant to get you where they want you to go. It's not meant for those who are on "cheaper" plans - prepaid, loyalty plan, grandfathered unlimited - but for those who are on the specific 5G UWB plans. They want YOU to hit that UWB if its in your area and feel it's worth the cost you're paying....and if you'll never use UWB in your life, then that extra $10 went to someone's pockets.

Not being rude or crude or internet snarky, but Verizon - as well as AT&T - isn't doing this for fun. They're doing this because they want as many people as possible to fall in line. My phone qualified and I was already on an eligble plan so I win. Seems like you gotta weigh either keeping your current phone or basically having a "wash" effect. Hope you make a good choice!

Yes, while helping a family member with upgrading, verizon told us that he had to pay off his device and would lose his promo credits. He has about 2 payments left but had to pay it off in order for him to trade in.

He has an iPhone Xr and it's very slow and battery has drastically gone down.
Unfortunately he uses car chargers since he is a trucker so I am assuming that helped mess up the battery.

I tried chatting with them yesterday but the rep wasn't really helpful. From reading other users experiences, it looks like he has to get one one of those expensive unlimited plans. He loves verizon because the data is great but his data is not prioritized

Thanks. Look like in order to take the $500 port in credit, you have to have a balance on the phone.
Yes, the $500 is to pay off early termination fees. If your phone is paid off... or you are free and clear with your contract, you get 0

Have the Unlimited plans changed recently? It looks like they're more gatekeeping 5G tiers now instead of 4G. Before iirc you only got unlimited of varying speeds for 4G depending on the tier.

My iPhone X is 459.99 worth, not 800. Still I'm kinda interested in this offer.

I did a fake pre-order on the app with my IPhone X 256GB and they offered a trade credit of $800, but I had to move to the new unlimited plans.

However, if I chose to stay with my current unlimited plan from a couple years ago, the trade in amount dropped to $459
