All of these "new phone" deals have hidden costs rolled into the plans they want you to sign up for. Speak with an agent and try to get a monthly bill estimate but be aware they lie too.

For example my account with ATT is flagged by CS reps because I'm grandfathered into a sweetheart deal. I get slammed with advertisements to switch and one CS rep even admitted my account was listed to receive special offers.

I pay $100 a month + $10 a line and get 25 gigs shared, hotspot and rollover. The rollover is so good I have never run out of data. The kicker is I have an TimeWarner discount of 30% that gets applied to the $100 service charge. All in I pay about 120 a month for 4 lines for my family.

If I "upgrade" for a new phone, even if I got a "free" $1000 new iPhone 13 pro my bill would jump to about $200 a month because the discount only gets applied to a single $50 dollar line and the plans themselves are just that much more expensive. Even worse, if I upgrade they will not honor the 30% TW discount as it changed. The agent refused to tell me one way or the other if the discount would be honored. I had to "switch to see if it gets applied"

All said an done, the savings on a new phone would evaporate after about a year of the new service and I'm now paying an extra 80 a month forever.

Be wary slick dealers. Don't let new phone sparkle blind you.

I am a At&t internet customer but I don't see the 25% discount while adding the line. I am logged into my account and went through the flow of selecting iphone 13 pro with a trade in and choosing an unlimited plan. Am I doing something wrong?

AT&T will try to scam you with the credits after you get the phone. They did it to me on my last 8 months they stopped my credits and told me that it finished. I had to be on the phone for days

I traded my 2 XS's in at the store on 9/24 and got 2 receipts. I assumed that meant they were eligible for the trade in offer of $800 and I was good to go. Then I kept getting emails regarding my trade in, so I called ATT and they gave me 2 UPS tracking numbers for my trade ins and asked who told me to do it at the store. She said they will be inspected and they'll let me know if they are eligible. So it appears all the store does is UPS them to some ATT location. My UPS tracking shows one phone delivered last Thursday and one Friday.

Has anyone that's done this deal actually received verification that their trade in has been received and eligible for the offer? How long did that take? Thanks

For existing fiber and wireless customers, has anyone tried and pulled off 25% discount on wireless account? I am thinking of adding new lines at 25% and later transferring existing lines to them. Looking for anyone who had success doing this or any other way. Sad we have to play these games.

I traded in my 2 XS max's and got the two receipts and two printouts did your att do the same?

If I go for this deal, is it itemized on the monthly bill? Does it say $70 for cell/data service and then $50 for the phone? Hoping it's just one number that's not itemized.

Something big to remember with AT&T is that, if you upgrade your phone later, you lose the remainder of your trade in value. So, if you get $1000 for your phone, that's divided into 36 months. If you upgrade your phone in month 16, you lose the remaining 20 months of credits, even if you stay on the same plan.

So basically, only use this if you only upgrade every 3 years and you're absolutely sure you won't upgrade (or switch companies) before then.

I ordered 2 online but then decided to take my trade (XS maxs) in's in store instead of mailing them off, heard stories of them getting lost. I got 2 receipts, with initial value of like 250? cant remember exactly the employee said they would get further evaluated. Today I got 2 texts saying that we should see our credits soon. Hope we don't get screwed.

yeah i got the text too...i hope the credit shows up for my my xsmax's next month so i can finally stop worrying if att will mess this up lol
