Been looking for this to go on sale for my PS5. Not a huge fan of Newegg but a deal is a deal. Added gift card is a bonus, but I am sure if you don't want Newegg you may be able to price match somewhere else and skip the gift card option!

damn it i freaken hate newegg but a deal is a deal. This is shipped by adata anyways... just god damn have to use newegg... I guess for the price and speed i dont care what goes into my ps5. Dont like adata in terms of reliability but this is their top speed one and has plenty of endurance and warranty.

Currently I have a gen 4 nvme that maxes out at 5k reads. It works with the ps5. When installed, the test reads were 4K, not 5k. It still works. This is on the updated firmware. So if u find something cheaper or already have a gen 4, may save you some money. Mine is the xpg s50, not the lite version

I read a review on Newegg that sounds like you have to remove part of the heatsink to install into the PS5. Can someone confirm?

Any reason to go WD SN850 over this model?

This is the blade version. Its a low profile heatsink. Not the regular version. Doesnt look like u have to do anything to me. Just plug and play. Now is the heatsink sufficient is another question...

That is for the s70 not the blade version. The blade version fits in directly with no issues.

I have the same S50 and it works fine in my PS5. Fine means not only PS5 accepts it but also that I didn't really notice any obvious difference when I am playing TOA now, compare to the internal SSD. So if you already have a gen 4 which is not the top tier one, it still worth a shot to just try it in PS5. You may only need to buy a $10 heatsink instead of a new experiences SSD.

If we use Gpay code the thing would 230$ plus 15$ gift card thats 215$ for 2TB of the fastest SSD on the market !!! steal deal !

EDIT : you have to remove the gift card because the cvode wont work the fional price would be 229.50$ before tax thats still a steal !

GDI I was going to wait for black Friday but this is a pretty good deal so I ended up biting...I don't really think a 980 pro or a WD SN850 is worth the price for a ps5 - those drives would be better used in a pc unless you get a really good deal on them.

So it can be installed as-is or recommended a 3rd party heatsink?
