These are the older AC1200's that were released in 2016. They rebranded early last year to Nest.

They are still powerful, but for a couple extra dollars you can have the new setup with more range.

But the new ones don't have ethernet ports on each module like the original ones did.

If you're buying these, you really want more than one so that you get the benefits of a mesh. Costco has these for $230 for a 4 pack ($57.50 each), and sometimes there are coupons that bring the price down lower. There was a really great slickdeal on these last month, so personally I'd wait for a lower price.

I saw the 4 pack on sale for 179.99 recently and I actually prefer the older system as you get a dedicated ethernet port on every point

Now that's a good price. I agree that the dedicated ethernet ports are really nice. I use a couple of the points to hook up desktop computers in remote rooms. Hook up to a switch, and you can have wired ethernet to a bunch of devices in a remote room. No, it's not the same as running cat5 to the room, but close enough for my purposes.

Google mesh wifi is the bomb. I am even thinking about getting a point to put in the barn but not sure how long it would last out there.

Yes Google makes mesh WIFI systems. When installing them the first puck is the router/firewall/NAT/gateway and is connected to the ISP modem. More than one is really needed to be effective. They work great. I have deployed these in a couple of residences (highly recommended) and into 10 commercial environments( against my advice). Not one call back or issue.

As pointed out these are the old WIFI 1200 standard. The newer Nest is 2200.

This price is not really a SlickDeal.

Lowes had these for $40 each a couple weeks ago. Grabbed 3 for $100 (after a $20 off coupon)

This one pc deal is good for those who already have google wifi or newer nest wifi mesh and want to add another point. I already have nest wifi mesh and wanted to add another point. Nest point was costing $150+ so thought of using this google point since google wifi router vs. nest point has somewhat same specs ( though nest router is much superior). Just my 2 bits to the conversation.
