36 month credit ? Amazing. We went from 2 year contracts to three year contracts.

There is a guy over at the Macrumors forums posting that info.
Let me look for his post and I'll put a link in here.

Post 25 poster Oridus says that he's an AT&T rep and he has great info here.

Their terms explicitly state the credits may end if paid off.

This must be on unlimited plan is such BS from ATT. I'm on an old family plan that doesn't need unlimited and I received absolutely nothing for upgrading a paid off device

Warning : AT&T credits are a royal pain. I regret getting an iphone12 through their credits. Still fighting via long phone calls to get credits.

I have spent so many damn hours sorting it that I would have been better off just buying the phone and saving my stress and time.

The biggest killer "must be on unlimited plan"
And what is this new cr@p about 36 months installments??? 30 months was bad enough. It's just getting worse every year.

Are you sure that the credit will continue if you payoff the phone after 90 days?

Here's what says on atnt website:
"If you upgrade or pay up/off the installment agreement on the discounted device early, your credits may cease."

I'm awaiting Sams or Walmart deals where you get gift card. That way I'm not stuck to the same phone for 3 long years

Credits will continue long as you keep the service. But why pay it off if you're keeping the service, ATT is not charging interest on the payments...
