You might be able to score some free pods by ordering X number from Nespresso directly. Nespresso makes great "coffee drinks" where you can make your creation, but if you want straight up coffee that tastes great and super convenient for $1/cup, you can't beat Vertuo lines, it's probably as close to a freshly brewed slow drip morning coffee you can get without the mess. For Nespresso, you still need 2 pods anyway to make a strong coffee drink that is more than few sips anyway, so I'd say go with most convenient one.
