I have a feeling that this deal will not last.

Tangentially related, but quick tip that may help someone.

I'm on a grandfathered Sprint plan. Recently upgraded from Pixel 4XL to Z flip 3. Trying to activate they kept saying I needed to switch to a new T-mobile plan. You need to get them to send you a Sprint sim card and that should let you keep your plan... they'll send a T-Mo sim card with the new phone.
No change of plan required.

Trade in works for Kickstart plan and also Free line ( but lower trade in value on free line)
Why would this be? I got $400 for my iPhone 6S on my free line.

How would you know 100% for sure if you haven't activated the iphone 13 yet? Sprint's website has been acting up. One day it will tell me my kickstart plan is eligible and requires a plan change. Then on another day it doesn't require a plan change . My phones have always been eligible and saw discounts since the iphone 12, but always have a disclaimer that I would have to change my plan.

It doesn't hurt to try, the worst that can happen is having to return the phone. So I wouldn't say 100% a sure thing until you have the iphone 13 in hand activated showing that you're still on the kick start or free line plan.

I spoke to customer service on the number I posted above and confirmed that I was only interested if I didn't need to change plans. They confirmed that several times in our conversation and the agreement I signed only mentions the phone upgrade, nothing around plan changing.

All that said, I will believe it 100% once device is activated on my account. Wink

Sidenote: I think the reason they are offering more for older phones than some newer ones is so they can get you on the T-mobile network regardless of whether your plan is Sprint or T-mobile.

Very out of the loop when it comes to the TMO and Sprint merger. I'll be upgrading from an iPhone 7 on a SWAC plan. My SWAC plan will not change correct? Will I be forced to move to a TNX sim card and if so, how has TNX been in Chicagoland area?

You should be able to keep SWAC based on my experience and what they told me about my SERO plan when I did the upgrade order last night.

Can't comment on TNX in Chicago area but curious to the same question in the NYC / Long Island area.

Side note: How do you like SWAC? It looks better than SERO which I have been very happy with for years and I found a link (posted above) where it looks like I can request to be moved SERO > SWAC. Going to get the new iPhone activated on current plan before considering putting that request through.

Love SWAC. I was on SERO for the longest time and moved over to SWAC maybe two or so years ago. Still get Hulu free as with SERO, but get Tidal Premium and Amazon Prime free as well. SWAC also has tethering which SERO didn't. That has helped when my internet has gone down while WFH. So no downsides plus my bill went down $10 a month. If you can still get on SWAC, I wouldn't think twice. It's the only reason I'm planning on staying with Sprint.

Have you tried to upgrade ? To see if you qualify, there's no disclaimer or change of plan.
Cause my plan never changed, and your plan doesn't change because you are just activating a phone !

TNX vs Sprint legacy, no difference, only trouble I had was trouble with the free international data roaming (no service) this a known issue. And sprint will give you some $ credit if you complain.

If you have a 12, you might as well get the 13 from best buy. Good trade in value and you'll own the phone with no EIP

Will this work across the merger, on T-mobile as well?
You need to be a Sprint customer or Sprint/T-Mobile TNX.
Log into your account and try to upgrade your phone to see if you get the trade in offer.

I have 2 phones on my account. An IPhone 11 that I use and and an Iphone 7 as a backup that the kids use. Does anyone know if I can use the upgrade offer on the Iphone 7 line but activate it on the Iphone 11 line and then give the Iphone 11 to the kids and trade in the Iphone 7?

Wasted an hour on the phone. Finally got to a competent employee who said I'd need to migrate over to T-Mobile to take advantage of the offer and lose my current plan.
