How many square feet does it cover? There's no mention of it on the website.

Use RO water. However, most 5+ stage RO systems have a stage that adds minerals after removing everything from the water. I have a hose bypassing that stage which allows me to get water with < 4ppm. Also helps with mineral deposits in the humidifier.

Using distilled water will solve this problem.

I have been using the smaller Winix unit that I got on Woot many months ago ever since. No dust.
Helps with nighttime sleeping and breathing by keeping the bedroom at 40% humidity.
I fill it 3 times a day with reverse osmosis water.
I am going to get this bigger one so I can just fill it once a day.

If true, seems like a minor inconvenience to dust every few weeks, in order to have better breathing and air quality.

Do you have to clean these constantly in order to prevent mold growing inside the unit?

i bought a warm mist humidifier from walmart.
a month later, it stopped working.
there was a layer of something (calcium?) around the ultrasonic device that turns the water to mist.
tried to chip it off with a screwdriver but it wouldnt chip off easy.

returned it.

does this $60 humidifier calcify around the ultrasonic device?
