I have a Shark steam mop I paid ~$80 for a few years back. To those who think you're sanitizing or killing germs, you're not. The mop would have to stand in one spot ~45 seconds while steaming to kill anything. It's a marketing ploy. After realizing/learning this, I haven't used it much since.

The Bissell Crosswave [bissell.com] scrub mop is really the only thing I've found that's significantly better/more convenient than an old mop and wringer. Spot cleanup or the whole floor, it's a quick all-in-one grab and deploy weapon.

And before anyone asks (nobody was), I've also got the Bissell Spinwave. It's essentially a regular mop with a small motor. Not very strong and really doesn't save me anything. Wouldn't recommend.

Not sure if it's still on sale for the same price at Bed Bath and Beyond. But I got mine at the same sale price and was able to use that 20% coupon and get it for around $104 pre tax.

Been a while since I used a steamer, used to just put some vinegar in with the water instead of using distilled.

Why did you stop using a steamer?

Thanks for posting!! I'm going to pay the extra for the shark since it has "steam" cleaning feature. I don't expect it to kill all my germs but it's much easier to getup dried messes from the pets/kids with a warmer pad/solution. Thanks!!!

This [groupon.com] is the one I have. Paid $76.15 shipped on June 10, 2016. It worked as designed, but not as advertised. The "deep clean and sanitize floors" line is bull honky. It basically just adds moisture on a cotton pad. Marketing garbage.

I've never seen it before, but it looks promising. Exactly as the description states, a key to great mopping results is keeping the clean and dirty water separate. Nearly all of these just dampen a pad and you use that same pad throughout your job. That's why I like the Bissell Crosswave. It's like a carpet shampooer for tile/hardwood floors. It also vacuums up solid debris too, something the Costco one lacks. While I don't substitute a regular vacuum for Crosswave, it certainly helps when it's time to mop. Overall, the Costco one seems promising but the Crosswave is only a touch more. Heck, try that thing out. Costco's return policy is solid. If you don't like it, bring it back.

This Bissell Crosswave is amazing.

$50 MFG coupon ends today!

I have had the corded and two of the cordless version. Combining this with their hard floor sanitizer had been the best combo for disinfecting with kids and pets I've found.

Bissell makes a cordless crosswave [costco.com]. I've never used it before though. Also, Bissell has a better bundle deal directly on their website [bissell.com] right now. Solid Costco deal on the corded one though. EDIT: That's actually the pet version which features an improved roller and a strainer in the reservoir. Hella good deal!

I recently bought a hoover floor mate deluxe off Amazon. I couldn't believe it but the price dropped to $69 for a very short window of time while I was looking around so grabbed it. We are moving into a new place soon with all tile flooring downstairs so i figure itll be good. Turns out the sellers have the same unit but apparently they don't use it often because their floors are filthy! Lol. I was deliberating between this and the crosswave but opted for this due to the price... The crosswave looks awesome though!
