It does not exclude preorders or Sony 1st party games, at least for right now. I just preordered Horizon Forbidden West for PS5 for $39.xx after the discount. This is a great deal.

Got the coupon and ordered Horizon Forbidden West PS5. Great deal. Same thing happened a couple of months ago. There was a Target Circle Coupon that excluded Sony first party games, but it worked on Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PS5.

Good point. Didn't realize this. Should have done that. But now I'm hesitant to cancel my order, lest it doesn't apply again. Not too worried about it. I have a feeling resale value for the PS5 version will be few dollars higher than PS4 version anyway. Best I not take a risk of cancelling over a dollar or two.

I was able to locate the offer by going to Target Circle Offers and selecting "Tech and Entertainment": https://www.target.com/circle/offers/24. It was there, but I hadn't been able to locate it from generally browsing all offers or clicking the link.
Unfortunately not eligible for the one game I have been planning to buy via preorder (FarCry 6).
