It does not exclude preorders or Sony 1st party games, at least for right now. I just preordered Horizon Forbidden West for PS5 for $39.xx after the discount. This is a great deal.

Three more of my friends were able to get the 40% off on all the video games in their cart after showing the reps my order number showing and asking them for help to replicate because their 40% off video game offer isn't working. I recommend placing the order FIRST, so they don't/can't check the game's eligibility in your cart and then emptying your cart. Be like "I purchased, the promo didn't work but my friend did the same thing with his promo and it did, here's the order #" Also be really nice. Don't be a dick in your chats even if the rep doesn't help since they can see that.

All three orders prediscount were from $400 to $600 and the discount was manually adjusted as a partial refund. I won't share my order number here, but others might.

Attached screenshots. My subtotal was 219.96, then minus Redcard discount, and THEN the 40% off was applied, so -94.58 (-11 + -83.58) off the total order. Add taxes, it was $144.13. Also, it was applied as a refund and not a promo, so I am hopeful it sticks. The agents name was Kylie, btw.

I tried chatting but didn't have any luck. The rep seemed to be immediately familiar with the offer, and told me it was originally posted by mistake and revoked within minutes. I pressed for a supervisor to intervene, but the best they could do was 10% off as a courtesy after I placed an order. They also said any orders placed with the 40% offer were canceled, which I doubt.

They have cancelled on on me before, a long time ago when I got a discount on a pre-order I was not supposed to. Fingers crossed on this one.

​I've never had target cancel on me, during the B2G1 free deals and I made a lot of those and would cancel 2 for 33% off 1. For this deal my all non-preorders have already shipped.

Just keep trying with different chat agents. Was just able to get 40% off of Ghosts of Tsushima PS5 and a pre-order of Battlefield 2042. My account showed "offer unavailable " as well.

My girlfriend got it on her account and tried getting it to apply to all my games a couple times but it wouldn't work. I chatted with them and they continued to say that pre-orders didn't qualify. I then tried it on my account where I didn't have the promo and placed an order based on what people were saying. After placing it, I went into the chat and they gave me the 40% off all my games. Keep it very nice and sweet! They are human too! Thanks guys! Someone will be very happy for Christmas!

It appears to be another scam type lure ..... most of these listed GREAT DEALS are not available or maybe by law they only need 1 work nationwide to keep them out of the courts.

Tried 7 different reps, placing in cart and asking, ordering and asking to discount.

They all said your account is not available for this promotion and its for limited accounts. Seems like they know now.

I didnt get the offer but after 3 chat attempts I finally found a rep that would take 40% off. I was able to grab Far Cry 6, Wonderlands, and HFW, effectively saving ~$80.
