May be helpful when on a plane so you can stand it on the seat back tray and not have to hold it. Additionally it's nice to have a case to help avoid damage or scratches to the screen when in a travel bag.
Good to know, I canceled my first order from Amazon because I paid full price, won't get to me for another day now, but helpful to hear whether someone likes it or not as it didn't have any product reviews being new model.

Highly dependent on usage. I kept my mini5 naked cause I use it almost exclusively handheld, and a stationary stand as needed. Anyone actually taking it around to places would appreciate a half decent cover.
