I'm using some 530's on my desk, and personally would've gone with a set of 570's if I had the space. I Like these 530s, but I always lean toward the tower version of any speaker lines I've demoed. That being said, I still really like my 530's for the money. IMO if you feel like you're missing low end, you'd be better off putting the $400 towards a sub and keeping your 530's. One thing I've heard that has kept me from going too wild in my speaker journey, is to not buy a set of speakers/components that are a side-grade. There won't be that much difference vs only putting money into things that are upgrades to parts of your system, which will gradually bring your overall system level up.

If you plan to put 530's or any bookshelf on a stand you might as well just get the tower version. Some people really get fixated on having bookshelves and make this mistake for a variety of reasons , myself included.

As others mentioned ... these are mini-towers and you need some stands/stools to raise them up.
That's the reason I went with 580 even though I dislike bigger speakers in living room (580s also needed to be angled up a bit to reach ear level).

I just had to post something on these. I currently use the 570 after having owned the 530 and about 3 dozen other bookshelf and floorstanding speakers and these are no question the best value in speakers right now IMHO. Especially after seeing the price hikes of so many speakers recently, these are an even easier buy and I'm baffled JBL is still selling them at $400. I loved the 530, but these as the size would suggest, just do everything bigger and better. They have a marvelous tone, massive soundstage and a very unoffensive signature. The bass is stunning for a dual 5.25" as was the Studio 530 with its single 5.25". I also prefer these to my $900 Chane A5.4 towers which are a 3-way AMT, 5.25" midrange, and triple 5.25" woofer floorstander.

Couple of tips if you decide to purchase:
- Tilting is no substitute for physically raising the speakers. These are short!
- The center of the tweeter is about 28" from the base of the speaker.
- They are very front heavy so be careful if using around kids or larger pets.
- Feet can be individually adjusted or removed completely for a flat base.
- I'm using folding foot stools I found on Amazon. Lots of colors, sizes, and brands. They have 9", 11", 13" and beyond. Can be purchased individually or in pairs. I ended up paying around $25 for the pair of 9" and 11", and $35 for the 13". I liked the 11" the best and when set on furniture sliders (which I also recommend for insanely easy positioning and experimenting) I've got the tweeters at 38" and they sound glorious! They're right at ear level and also at the half way point on my TV. The speakers fit on the stools with very minimal overhang, but remember to remove the feet!

Whatever you decide, everyone deserves to hear/own something from the Studio 5 lineup at some point!

Compare with 530 , are they use same horn tweeter? I used to own 530 and 590. 590 has much better not only bass but also high. I m almost certain that they use different horn tweeter.

The larger series 80/90 have a different compression driver. Based on zReviews it seems the 530s, 570s, and 590s are great while the 580s don't have enough low end efficiency to match the upper end.

You don't need to raise these speakers up.
They have **adjustable feet** so you can raise the front of the speakers so the tweeters point at your ears at the main listening position.
They're compact compared to their bigger brothers in the lineup, but still very effective.
No matter what speakers you choose, I'd always recommend a subwoofer in your setup.

No need to raise them. They designed the adjustable feet to support tilting the speakers to point upwards a bit. Enough to cover higher elevations in most rooms.
