Great for a Synology NAS that uses these drives for VMs and acceleration

$170 is absolutely nuts for a 2TB NVMe drive with TLC. Is there a catch about this one I should be aware of?

Nope. This one is Gen 3, you need Gen 4 for PS5

Dram-less drive, top speed is half of the SN750 or EVO980. This is a still likely be best Dram-less drive your will find. Speed is more than enough for day to day work, but it does not meet the needs of the PS5 that many Gen 4 drive does not meet. 7800 read.

SN550 has no DRAM while 960 Evo Plus has DRAM.

Hard pass. Western Digital nerfed these drives recently causing a 50% performance loss.

No way of telling which drive you'll be getting.
