Are you kidding? China of course.

You won't find a better sounding speaker for money. That's why these consistently sell out.

Everyone needs to get into hte habit of using that little microphone that comes with most AVRs these days and looking up how to use it properly

It takes some time to set up everything properly, but you willl enjoy your system way more and that kind of acoustic tuning used to cost a lot of money to have someone else do for you.

Any experience with the REFERENCE SUB R12? It's also still on sale for $169. I've seen it lower but didn't pull the trigger due to lack of reviews. It seems like everything they make is quality
Its pretty good from what I've read across the internet. A step up from the Daytons you can find in this price range, I might end up buying two when I get a house.

Well that's another confusing topic, how something is made(make) determine how good or bad it sounds?

That's on top of everyone has their definition of "for the price".

Having experience with it I would point out its a $169 300 watt sub which only goes down to 29hz.

It might be sufficient for music in a smaller room and just ok for HT, anything beyond that and most likely struggle.

I would say you get what you pay for with it.

I've had these (and a matching 5.1 setup) about a year. I've been extremely happy with performance …

… but there's a weirdo thing to watch out for with all the Infinity stuff….

My tower (1), center channel, and sub, ALL had broken and bent mounting pins in the grilles. No visible damage to the outside of the boxes.

Bizarre. Harmon replaced grilles as they could. I've gotten the tower and sub grille. Still waiting for the center channel to come back in stock.

Is that statement a positive or a negative about it's performance overall? On the extreme, I'm sure there is a "best" sounding $20 speaker too.

Only piece I am missing is front speakers. Close to just going the Solstice DIY route and my finger has been on that trigger without pulling way too long.
These sound and are named reference quality necause they are. They are on sale frequently cause its the same model thats been around for 30 years practically and infinity seems to be getting out of the home theater gane. For the price i have an entire 7.1 infinity setup for under 800$ that can rival 5000$ systems. The massive center speaker is one of the best, and clear dialogue speaker ive ever experienced. Sounds greta runnig music vocals through it also

I bought one the last time it was on sale and it performs great for my HT & music needs. I still prefer my Polk PSW505 but will likely buy more Infinity R12 for other rooms as they are more readily available below $170 BNIB + warranty.

Which one is better? JBL studio 530 or this? Thanks
The studio 530s sound better, but the 530s really shine if you get a sub to handle the low end and crossover around 80hz. I always recommend going with a sub from Hsu/SVS/Rhythmik if budget allows. A good sub is always worth splurging, especially if you want home theater performance.

In general, the studio 5 series are a slightly better speaker than the infinity reference line, but both are amazing values when on sale. The main issue for me with the reference line is that the highs are fatiguing.
The only exception to studios > infinity reference is the center channels. The RC263 center from Infinity kicks ass, but it's also massive.

These look like good speakers. I have a receiver which outputs 160 W, these should be able to manage the load.

Will this work well in a 2.0 set-up, without center and sub speakers?

I have both the JBL 530s and the Infinity 162s and to my ear the 162s sound significantly better. Its definitely a preference thing. I've ended up REALLY loving the Infinity reference line for their amazing clarity and great balance. Except the infinity subs, those suck. You're much better off with the JBL 550 sub from the Studio series, but you should get two if you can. Still, about the JBL speakers, maybe the horn speakers just arent for me, but the JBLs always sound just too bright not the Infinitys. I try them both back to back in the same spot using an SVS PB12 sub, and the JBL sound great, but much prefer the Inifitys which sound both fuller and clearer and more balanced. And those bookshelfs can get crazy loud.

Anywho, like another poster said, I've been floored by the sound quality and price of this Infinity line and have just about bought all of them. I have the 162 bookshelfs, the 263 AND the 253 towers, and the RS152 surrounds (which are just ok). I have the 162s in my living room with the SVS sub, and the 263 towers and center, the 152 surrounds and two JBL550 subs in the media room and they sound great for music and home theater. The 253 are just sitting around at the moment with my JBL 530s and the Jamo 803s (which suck!).

I really don't think you can go wrong either way, when either line of speakers are on sale. I definitely acknowledge horn tweeters take a while to get used to and can ultimately not work out for some folks. Preference between the two will also really depend on what you use the speakers for (music vs HT).

The bookshelf's from both lines are a bit of a toss up. Although in 2.0, the low end of the 530s is way better than the 162s. That's obviously moot when a sub is involved though. However, when it comes to towers…the studios (580s or 590s no 70s) are in a totally different class than the Reference offerings. The 590s in particular are widely regarded as one of the best bang/bucks in all of audio when they go on sale. That's why I said consensus is generally studios > reference from the lines as a whole. The major exception is the center channel. The 520c is totally undersized for use with the studio towers. Lots of people end up either blending the RC263 with the 590s or have crazy set ups with the 3 studio towers for LCR.

Will these power the a denon s-750h from Costco I just got?
For good future proofing and/or XBOX/PS5 performance, I highly recommend returning your S750H and swapping it out for the S760H which Costco just got in stock over the past 6 days for $40 more. From everything I am reading, this sounds like the best value in AVR's right now, especially given this chip shortage causing retailers to inflate prices, understandably.

I just picked up a S760H this morning, looking forward to getting in my speakers this weekend, tuning everything, and giving it a good run through!

You mean you got all of these expensive speakers and you can't try them out? Have you been to a physical store to listen to them vs others? Not everyone will agree on sound signatures and performance. Your $ but I wouldn't buy speakers just based on reviews.

How much did the RC252 cost you on Amazon?

I picked up a pair of Infinity R263 Floor Standing speakers a couple of months ago (I absolutely love them) and have been waiting for the center to go on sale. Unfortunately they haven't had that on sale yet.
