This is a big no no! The merchant does not care about your payment method as long as it is a valid payment. They also do not care your credit card rewards. The offer is on Citi website. Credit is to be issued to customer's Citi account as statement credit. How is Best Buy supposed to get involved? Citi should be responsible but they are trying to get rid of it!
True. It's just one date only. 10/5 for orders on that date.
People before and after that date got their credit.
I did another offer on 10/12 (Citi - BP) and already got the credit. It had gone from enrolled to redeemed in one day.
It seems like transactions made on 10/05 all got an issue of credits not being posted. My brother made a purchase of $200 Amazon GCs in one transaction on 10/05 and he did not see the credit. The offer still shows "enrolled" after 12 days. He called Citi and spent 45 minutes with the rep. The rep finally told him to contact Best Buy. My brother was upset, saying the offer is from Citi and it doesn't make sense that he needs to go back to Best Buy for an offer from Citi. The rep insisted Best Buy is aware of the issue. Bunches of craps! I think he will not receive the credit but a person from another blogs said he received his credit one month after making a purchase of another offer.
I think we're spoiled by AE that has a similar offer program - literally get confirmation of using your offer while you're still at the checkout
In my experience, other programs are typically laggy. This is the first time I'm using Citi offers, but Chase offers are very laggy too - I just got a confirmation yesterday that I used a Costco offer..... in August!
If it is laggy across the board, that would be understandable. But when all the others have received their credits but those who made the purchases particularly on 10/05 have received no credits, that is a problem.
The real issue is when the problem arises, Citi will only give you a runaround. You signed up the offer on their website, expecting statement credit on your Citi accounts, but they would tell you to contact the merchant for an offer Citi is promoting.

went on citi.com to chat. rep asked what i purchased and said its not valid on gift cards. told her limited on best best gift cards. doesnt say anything about 3rd party gift cards. still got refused
people made purchases on 10/5 will be screwed

How about ALL the other people who got gift cards from BB and already got their $50 credit?

I already executed the reward offer transaction (AT&T Fiber) 19 days ago and didn't get reward so far. Contacted csr via chat and this what they said: "I can see that there are no redemption done on your account , please do try doing it again ." Asked them try again what? Have already spent the money/executed transaction. They asked to call. Not impressed by Citi. Spoiled by Amex CSR.
Looks like the 10/5 BB $200 transaction folks are out of luck. They will NOT be getting the credit.
Contacted CSR THRICE. No good response. Half of them don't even see the offers.
Last one said: It's a "MERCHANT OFFER" . It's given by BestBuy - Citi has nothing to do with it. Basically there is no record of the offer being redeemed in their system and hence no credit.
They say it's Bestbuy's fault. Never mind that anyone after 10/6 already got the credit.
I'm going to give up now. $50 down the drain. Citi's CS is absolutely PATHETIC. Most of the CSRs have no clue what the offers are, and they make up all kinds of crap. Citi really does suck.

With Chase Offer at CVS, I received an email titled You have used one of your Chase Offers a few hours later in the day.
Then five days later, I get an email titled Congrats! You've successfully redeemed one of your Chase Offers.
With American Express, I only get one email.
The recent American Express Offer for contactless payment never generated an email for me, but I did get the credit.
