Shaq makes a grill press, is this better or worse than a George Foreman?

It's the Millennial equivalent of the George Foreman Grill. Gotta update the spokesperson to a current, recognizable celebrity to move those grills. Shaq whores himself out to every brand that wants him (Icy Hot, Epson, The General, Papa John's, this grill, etc.). I don't blame him; I'd also be cashing in on my celebrity if I were him. Milk that cow for every last drop! 🤑🤑🤑

Trying to decide between investing in this grill, or else the set of 10 black and orange plastic lawn flamingos.
Life presents such hard choices sometimes.

I got less than a month ago for $42 off targets website. It's has all of the appeal of the more expensive grills - High heat (450 but not 500), smoke fan, and removeable plates, but it does it all with caveats. It won't do 400 for some reason, it gets warm but not hot. 350 and 450 seem fine. The removable plates are nice but super lightweight. I haven't noticed this to be a problem but I am used to something more sturdy. The drip tray is below a curved piece of metal and 75% of the grease gets stuck in the metal, not the trap. Lastly, this thing has springs in it to prevent smooshing your food, but when making panini I want a little smoosh. The smoke removal works surprisingly good though.

I mainly have this for quick sears and sandwiches though so I kept it. Like I said, it sort of does everything the more expensive ones do with caveats. For the 42 I found with worth keeping rather than returning and would possibly pay 50, but there is no chance it is worth full price.

I could swear there's an episode of Shaqtin a Fool where Shaq burns his foot on one of these after forgetting he set it up next to his bed the night before, but Google says I'm imagining things.

Michael Scott did that on The Office on his George Foreman grill.

If a $50 grill is an "investment" ... Life's bound to be hard... Brace yourself

Dont buy this junk. Cleaning is extremely hard on this and it takes up too much space. I gave mine away.

My sister in law had a bunch of complaints about this thing. I think they used it 3 times and now it's on a shelf in the garage. They cooked brats on it, and the top plate didnt get as hot as the bottom. They kept checking on it, and they didnt look done. The bottom of the brats burnt, and no matter how many times they cleaned it, it has a burnt taste on everything they cooked afterwards. I think there was a problem with the fan button also.
