Service is awesome.. no doubt.. convenience to kick off wherever and whenever you want.. mobile, tablet, TV with chromecast is really great. Especially... when leading busy life with kids.

Only downside is game collection is not so great.. and often they are very expensive. Their pro subscription at 10 bucks a month is not at all justifiable.

Definitely not worth for full time gamers. Casual gamers playing only a handful of games like me .. 60 bucks for a game and chromecast is well worth it.

They have servers all over the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goo...th_America

In my experience it is neither slow nor laggy if you have reliable home internet.

Uh, it's a digital game, how exactly are you going to do that? And it's a digital game that only works with Stadia, at that.

Not sure if asked, but does the stadia controller support Bluetooth connectivity? Seems from a quick Google search it does NOT. Can someone with the controller confirm? I'd like to use it on the Switch or other console if possible.

Tip: Please try Destiny first for about 15 minutes to make sure your internet connection is fast and stable enough to allow smooth gameplay. It's free to play.

I couldn't find these questions answered:
1. Does the chrome cast come with its standard remote?
2. I tried ordering a game and needed a stadia account. But when I sign up, I am having to sign up for stadia pro. Is this how it works? Do I have to sign up for the trial?

Does not come with a remote, it comes with a Chromecast Ultra which never came with a remote.

Pro is not necessary

Probably not necessary, but if it's forcing you can cancel immediately, they'll still give you the first month free.

The chromecast doesnt come with a remote. This is the "Chromecast Ultra" which acts as conduit for all streaming apps on your phone/tablet which is your remote. If you need the remote you need the newest "Chromecast with Google TV"

You can skip the Pro using this link: https://stadia.google.com/games/destiny-2
I recommend you try one of the free games Destiny 2/Htiman or one of the free demos and make sure your network supports Stadia. If you have a stable >35mbps you shouldn't have any issues. If you have issues, reply back to this and I will try to sort it out.

Tips: Use ethernet if possible, or 5ghz wifi band. Use Edge browser instead of Chrome.

Why do you suggest using Edge instead of Chrome for Stadia?

Thanks for the clarifications and the additional tips to confirm bandwidth.

Ehhh - Playing on your PC wouldn't be a true representation, as the Chromecast Ultra with the Stadia controller performs better than a PC, especially when it's wired.

- It is bloated (cause it has been around for like 10 yrs)
- People have been using Chrome as their main browser, so they have a lot of chrome extns. Extn have a tendency to effect Stadia (eg, duck duck go extn used to basically bring Stadia stream to a halt... they fixed ti soon after).
- Edge is new and super basic.... its lightweight (and that will def change in future) compared to Chrome
- Edge uses the VP9 codec by default which is better than the H264 codec that Chrome uses by default.

Stadia is just fine for people who don't have actual gaming hardware other than their controller. but if you do have a gaming rig, even just a middle of the road type one (think gtx 1060, pre kaby lake processor) it's pretty inferior. I have a subscription gifted to me as part of another purchase, and i cancelled the subscription 8 months early.

Why would anyone get this over Gamepass Ultimate?
Xcloud is terrible in comparison. Game Pass has a lot of games, but also requires buying hardware and you have to pay a subscription. You can just buy a game on Stadia and play it on multiple devices you already own and don't have to pay another penny. If you spend hours every day playing games, there is more value in buying an Xbox and Game Pass.

Stadia is ideal for those that don't want to buy hardware or can't justify spending $200+ and would only play an hour or so a week.

I wish Elden Ring is coming to Stradia. My 1080 GTX probably won't run it satisfactorily.
