Still works according a thread on Reddit. For those that are unaware, you can convert X-Box Gold subscriptions to X-Box GamePass Ultimate at 1:1 rate. Here's a guide: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3...e-tip.html

It only works on subscriptions not currently active* I wasn't a new subscriber and was able to take advantage of the deal. I'd highly recommend everyone let their gamepass lapse and then attempt the conversion deal.

Yes it works. I don't think you'll get a 40 dollar deal anymore though. It's 60 bucks now, Newegg has it for 50 right now which is probably about as good as you'll get.

If you cam get 3 years of live for 150 and convert it to ultimate, it's a great deal.

I did it years ago, let it expire for a couple days and then did it again

The xbl conversion only works on new subscriptions though. You can't add to an existing subscription.

The link in the post goes to the global subscription but there is also a US subscription on the site. Will this code work for that one too? If I get the global one linked will it work for me since I'm in the US?

You're right. I misspoke. But for those like myself that bought several years, I was making the point that you cannot extend. You need to let your current subscription lapse. Mine doesn't lapse until next year, but I'm hoping the trick still works then.

I just did this the other day. My GPU was about to expire. I bought 3 years of gold at Costco and waited for the expiration notice. I loaded all three years, went to manage my gold sub, and then clicked on the upgrade button. $16.11 with tax for the conversion.

Make sure you turn off recurring billing when the conversion is complete. You'll see the three years GPU in your subs.

Enjoy getting 3 years for almost the price of 1... and without VPNs or juggling feral cats. Keep in mind that your sub has to completely expire before you reload and try to upgrade. I did mine within 2 hours after being notified.

If I have never had a GP subscription, what's the best way of going about getting 3 years of GPU? I can buy 3 years of Gold from Costco for $165 ($55 per year). Then covert to Ultimate for $1 right?
