Just the opposite. The Pegasus was the original logo/company. Most people are just used to seeing the premium brand mobil 1. Yes mobil 1 syn is better than mobil syn, i didnt even know mobil had a syn...

Hey, everybody. This isn't Mobil 1. It's regular Mobil... a different product line.

I guess some may not want to deal with a rebate....
But Mobil 1 is cheaper and better with rebate.

With that said the two motors I have used Mobil 1 on are both famous for their reliability. The 95 e36 M3 inline six motor and the Audi 3.0 supercharged motor. Both famous for reliability. But Mobil 1 held up without a single engine problem on my M3 and now I'm hoping for a repeat on my Audi.
You should have gotten a Lexus instead if that is your wish ☺️

So I'll give you a real answer, it's about 25$ regularly for synthetic oil 5qt. Then you need the oil filter. (I use K&N high performance) that's about $12-15$. You may also need a jack unless you can squeeze under the car without one. A reusable oil tray container, 13-15$ & some rubber gloves (2/3$) as well as a wrench & oil filter ripperoff'r. $10-20 for both of those. After you have all the maintenance stuff, it's about $40 to replace your oil yourself. It's worth it in the end, I replace my oil every 3.5k miles. I don't drive a lot, I have a sportscar & redline a lot.
Never get under a car being held by just the jack. Decent jack stands are <$50 and should be used anytime you're under the car.

why are you redlining it everyday?
The right pedal is often referred to as The Fun Pedal. Clearly he likes his 'Fun' set at a pretty high level.

If he's doing all of his work/repairs/maintenance, I don't see any issue with this. Let the man have his fun.

If you're a Costco member Kirkland brand full synthetic 10qt is less than $30 after tax. From my research Kirkland's oil is made by the same manufacturer as mobile 1. If you're not a member of Costco they have promotions to where it's almost free. Worth considering.

You know how many jugs of oil it cost for jack stands????? Real men just throw a full size spare under and run the numbers.

Get a vacuum fluid extractor ($70) and suck the oil out through the dipstick tube, and never have to crawl under a car again, or depending on engine, you may have to to get at the oil filter.
Legit question, but can you really get to the bottom of the pan on most cars? I mean the dip stick only dips like the last pint/quart tops, wonder if its in the shallow end of the pool...

Still id spend $70 for a sucker if i could get almost the full 5q out, and have a top mount oil filter cartridge.

I just replaced the front engine seals on a '92 Camry with around 112k miles on it while replacing the timing belt and water pump (might as well since I'm in there), but not the rear seal (I'll probably replace that soon when I drop the trans to fix an issue with it). I'll soon be replacing the valve cover gasket and plug seals.

So, is there still any reason to get the high mileage version of this, or would it be better to run the non-HM version since all the seals are or will soon be replaced? I understand that the HM version expands the seals which makes them leak with non-HM oil you put in later on. Any other seals I missed?

If you have good seals, or new seals, there is no point in "spending extra" for high mileage oil. However if its the same price or cheaper, its not a decrement either. Its not going to cause seals off the showroom floor to swell. Its only going to cause degraded seals to swell a bit, at best. If you have a sheet box, the grime that filled the degraded seals may be the only thing keeping it from leaking. Switching to plain synth may be a bad idea, as its gona clean the grime. There is hope that synth with sweller could give a bit of life left to the seals.

Its the same with buying extended interval oil. there is no point in paying extra, if you do 3-4k oil changes with it. Infact it may be worse since its got more additives, and less "oil".

Autozone has Mobil Full Synthetic 5w-30 and 5w-20 motor oil on clearance. 5qt is $15, 1qt is $4. Also saw some non high mileage variations also marked down to $15.

This is not the same as the Mobil 1 line of oil but hey, it's still a full synthetic oil for a good price.

Possibly YMMV due to stock availability.

So what is the difference between Mobile one and this?

The real question is if you have a sports car, why wouldn't you redline it every day?
That's the best way to prevent valve deposits because the super high forces of redline RPM will instantly chip off any build up lol!
Also commonly referred to as "The Ferarri Tune Up".
that makes no sense.
