Under previous ownership, UNREAL Mobile used an app for calls and texts. Under current management, all service run on a native cellular network like the majority of carriers. You can learn more at unrealmobile.com/coverage.
I have unreal right now and I have to use an app for calls and texting. It's horrible

Please consider switching over to our Premium service. It offers native cellular voice and coverage, without requiring an application.

There is a catch... Data is not per month. It is the total data.
So $20 will give you a total 3Gb, valid for three months.

I have used this service when it was on sale at target for $15.
Data does reset each month. In your example it's 3GB per month or 9GB total

I am currently on month 2 of a previous deal and it has reset.

always wanted to do google voice for my main number to avoid the risk of porting so many times to take advantage of the "deals"

i am assuming you forward your google voice calls to your temp. number and for outgoing use the google voice app.

what about messaging? any other issues?
I use the google voice app for calls and messaging. I rarely use the new number. Google voice works great when you travel out of the country, since you can make calls with your 'real' number whenever you have wifi, such as at the hotel. The only main I have run into is that some banks do not like google voice for 2 factor authorization, so I have to set it to email for those banks. I am anything but a power user but never noticed any missed messages or calls. One of the really cool things about google voice is that you can use it on your laptop and send and receive texts in the browser. It is nice to stay in contact with the outside world during meetings.

The only other annoyance is that the recycled numbers that are assigned when we switch carriers are sometimes jacked up; collection calls and jilted exes.

I'm interested in doing this. I already have google voice. How do I use it for deals like this?
If you port your main number to google voice (costs $20 one time fee) you can use the google voice app to make calls and send messages. Whenever the deal you are on gets close to running out just look for the best current deal and sign up. Do not port, just get assigned a new number, who cares the number you use with be your google voice number. Keep signing up for the unreal deals over and over if you like their service, or spread it around to whoever is cheapest and sign up for cricket, mint, unreal, red pocket, etc... Once mint with their buy 3 months and get 3 free special tried to get cute and wanted the phones imei to make sure you were not using the same phone, but I had an old moto phone and just used that one to sign up and switched the sim to my main phone after sign up.

Hmm I'm able to call and text with my phone's default dialer. I haven't been able to get my hotspot to work though. Not sure if it's my phone or something on Unreal's end
Same issue for me, they don't seem to allow it

Is fullspeed hotspot included or is it extra?
Is there a limit on how much monthly data can be used for hotspot? Thx.

It did not work for me this way. I had total 3gb. nowhere mentioned on their offer page that it includes 3gb/month.
It is unlimited talk, text, 3Gb data for three months. Not 9Gb total data.

With my plan renewing from a competitor in 10 days, is it likely that I would be able to receive this sim card and activate by then?

Is hotspot included in the data limit or is it measured separately?

Did you not look at the offer page?

"3GB of the highest speeds per month"

Unreal does have a 1-month plan for $15. You probably bought that at Target by mistake.

Used it before t-mobile towers were added. Only switched to mint b/c I wanted to try out another prepaid plan during the black Friday sale. Had no issues with phone service with the att towers. Customer service to port sucked tho since their hours were 9-5 for chat and phone. Att works better for my area. Might switch back eventually if they get better Customer service. So far, I'm happy with how easy mint is

Worst service experienced EVER. Also porting my number out to Google Voice turned into a costly chore and a HUGE time suck (spanning multiple days for hours at a time) because I had to first port to T-Mobile prepaid because Unreal is seen as a VOIP/landline service not a cell service and cannot be directly ported to Google Voice.

Unreal is my second worst life choice after breaking up with someone ultra wealthy.

This particular offer is for new activations.
Does this offer require a new SIM or can I select Activate and use a Starter SIM? I ended up with one instead of a 3 Month Plan SIM from a Target promotion a few months back. Didn't notice the mistake until after the return period was passed since I was holding on to it until my Mint plan ran out.

I wonder if you can drop the Unreal sim into the Moxee hotspot from the AT&T business free trial earlier this year?
