I'm curious if this one is locked to where the graphics card is always in use like my older Helios. It severely limits battery life for non-gaming tasks as a result. I get like 2 hours of battery life. I bought mine not intending it to be more than a portable gaming system (not an on the go one) so that's fine but it would be nice to see them allow for the use of integrated graphics.

No, it is not like that. It can switch between the integrated and dedicated GPU based on the work type.

This is a good deal, competitive with the legion 5 @ 1199$. I'd buy this if you want a bit more gaming performance (few %) and don't need the battery life as much.

Honest question if the amd usb c has display port and pd, isn't the only real advantage to thunderbolt the ability to use e gpu?

I bought this laptop and it flies. The screen is crisp goes upto 400 nits. 11800H i7 is 5-10% faster than AMD 5800H.
