I did this online a few nights ago. Still no sign of my 10k signup points, nor my first $5 cert to use for this month. Recently I bought a game called Lost Judgment which came with a $10 reward, I had to contact support just to get that issued to me as well once many days had gone by and it was never rewarded as it should have been. I figured this membership would quickly pay for itself and it's the only gaming rewards around these days since GCU ended, but it's clear much of GameStop as a business is a mess right now. There was a game on sale that I wanted, and I figured I'd get these 10k points and $5 monthly reward right away and I'd buy the game. Now I'm willing to bet by the time they get my points straightened out, the sale price on the game will expire and I won't be able to get what I wanted.

As others have also mentioned, the $5 monthly rewards can't stack because they expire, and they also cannot be used to preorder something, they have to be used on something currently in stock. Which is a negative to me, easiest way to make sure the rewards don't get wasted in a month where I might not want anything is to just preorder something that I know I want in the future. I hear PSN cards don't come in anything less than $10, so if you're mainly a PlayStation gamer you can't just get your monthly $5 in PSN credit either unless you add cash to it.

Small print terms about the PowerUp Pro says you can request to cancel/refund your membership within 7 days. I may do that as I am disappointed already. (Oh, also the previous game I bought online had a release date of Friday Sep 24th and I received it Weds the 29th. For a business that caters to gamers, they should know it's not fun to be 5 days behind everyone else who starts playing a game on release day. The package didn't even start moving until Monday after release.)

So I'll be wasting my Monday morning getting on their live chat that is only available on weekdays to ask where all these rewards are. If that doesn't get sorted immediately, I'll be inquiring about the terms of refunding my membership, and if they mess around with that, I'll contact my credit card about the $15 charge I used to join. I recently got a PS5 and figured I'll be buying more physical games because of that and that this would be worth doing, but I'm already frustrated with GS service.

This is what I do every month.
It tends to not let me use the credit on nintendo e-cards most of the time, sometimes yes, but I do it in-store every month without issue applied to the $10 e-card.

Quick update. Went to the store to redeem my 10k points for a $10 psn card. I signed up online on Sunday, points were in my account about 24 hours later.

Nothing on my other account that I purchased the pro in store yesterday, Monday.

After you got your 10k did you redeem for a $10 in-store certificate? I was going to do that so I could get a $10 Xbox gc, but I was afraid to because the fine print for redemption says "Not valid on gift cards or reservations." Confused

Correct. I went to the wall with the ps cards and took a $10 card. Went to the register, gave him my phone number. Asked him to redeem the 10k points. He was having trouble so I went in the app and redeemed a $10 certificate. After I did that, he saw it in his screen and processed the order

So i know the $5 e-gift cards can only be bought at the register..

but can the $10 e-gift cards be purchased online with reward certificates?
No, I just tried to do this with an eshop purchase and it said "no eligible items in your cart" when I tried to redeem.

The employee can't redeem points for you except for 15k points to renew your membership. It's a security feature. Otherwise, employees could just redeem points on customers who didn't know or care what points were.

Store manager told me yesterday they can't redeem the points for you because that's the easiest way for an employee to steal your points so you have to do it yourself to get the barcode for them to scan.

Just went to the store today at 3:00pm. Renewed and had my 10k points in my account by 4pm. If you can, go to a store and do this to help one of the employees out. I'm pretty sure subscriptions still help them out as an individual employee.

from previous posts, looks like we won't be getting that October $5 bonus
Seems like it's included in the 10k points.

That's what I'm thinking too. What the catch?
There isn't a catch, I go every month to get a $5 xbox gift card for my son, the membership pays for itself and more.

Try to do this in store if possible. Support the reps that work there, it's hard enough for them there.
any of them I have dealt with have been incompetent and made me mad so wouldn't want to help them.

One guy didn't give me a free guitar with a rock band game because he couldn't "figure out" how to do it in the system, despite him knowing it was supposed to be free and I think there was even a sign there saying it was free. Then he said he'd "call me" when he figured it out and I could go back and get it and then of course he never called me. This was all after he closed his line down and made me get in another line because he was going no a break, then he opened it right back up less than 1 minute later.

Then another time, a different person wouldn't tell me if I was too far back in a line for a wii u or switch (I forget which) where I'd know if I should just leave. He said I "might just get lucky" and smiled. then the line kept moving and right before it was my turn oops I was 1 person too far in the line to get one.

I purchased this a couple months ago. Strangely, I never got my magazines.
