I cashed out my discover cash back for the happy gift cards last year that had Lowe's and GameStop. If your plan is to try to convert to third party gift cards, I wouldn't recommend it. For Lowe's, all the stores around me in Chicago have simply stopped carrying third party gift cards. While on a trip to Bloomington, I stopped at a Lowe's with third party gift cards but the cashiers and manager would not let it me use the happy gift cards to buy them. I ended up using them to buy GameStop gift cards at a GameStop in hopes of buying an Xbox Series X. It's obviously pretty hard to liquidate a GameStop gift card. I'm sure others had easy experiences, but for anyone thinking to quickly convert these to Amazon gift cards it's seriously YMMV.

Depends on the location. The card specifically says that no gift card can be purchased, but some Lowe's employees don't check on them.
Please note that at my local Lowe's, gift cards can only be purchased at a manned register (i.e. no self-service kiosk).
Yes, and that's what makes these a good deal. These are run as credit gc's which Happy doesn't sell directly. I used over $500 last winter to buy Amazon GC at Lowes using the same method.

Must be just your locale; Any Lowes/HD I've been to has always had quite the assortment of 3rd party GC.
As for the cashier thing, YMMV - just act casual like it's a normal CC, swipe, etc. The only thing preventing it from working is a nosy cashier.
My luck. I literally just cashed in my $200 Discover Rewards on Buffalo Wild Wings cards, which at least were 10% off. I was just thinking the cashback deals had dried up and decided to just do something with them.
Still, at least I have $200 worth of traditional wings going into my Atkins/Keto diet! They break up the monotony of chicken breast, fried eggs, and rotisserie chicken.
You could have went with the happy dining card for 20% off and still used it for Buffalo wild wings Aswell as a few other spots!

Good to know. I guess I'll just cash mine out for Nike gc's which are usually discounted 20%

Nice! My Lowe's carry Amazon GCs; been buying them the last few years whenever Chase Offer at Lowe's comes up.
Anyone know if these Happy cards work in self-checkout? Sounds like it'll be easier than trying to convince cashiers to allow GC purchases, assuming these Happy cards work at self-checkouts. Also assuming self-checkouts allow GC purchases.

Yes but you can't buy GC @ SCO. I don't know of any place that allows GC purchase at SCO, not even WM or grocery stores do.
Really, unless you go out of your way to show the card to the cashier, the transaction should just go through. I cashed out $600 IIRC of these into mostly Amazon this time last year just going to Lowes. As I said, Happy doesn't sell these on their site, which makes the AmEx offer less useful ($15/$100 IIRC).
The only hiccup I did have with the Discover ones is that one of them came unactivated - I tried to use it a few times and kept getting denied, so I checked the balance which came up as $0. A quick online chat with Discover and they sent me a new one which worked just fine.

Krogers you can buy GCs at SCO but it has to be fixed amount cards.

I think I've gone through SCO with the variable amount card, but I don't remember if someone had to come by and approve it. But fixed amount works definitely.

Unless you know how to access the grey market giftcard world, 4% off AirBNB giftcards is a deal.
Even the Grey market rarely beats 20% off AirBNB. So these are easy to flip if that is your game, or just use them yourself.
