I have a feeling Home Depot knows all about this hack. It's been going on for several years now. If they really wanted to fix it, they could have. I think they would rather get Ryobi tools in more people's hands. I like the compact brushless set better so I ordered those and they will arrive today. The website automatically cancelled the free battery on my order reducing the final amount I needed to pay.
