If they sell for $170 new, where are they getting the $350 pricing from? Is that original msrp?
I prefer to base value of a deal off of what they sell for now, not what they originally sold for.
Huh, they support aptx low latency, which is a pretty rare feature (I don't believe the Bose or Sony headphones do). It's a useful feature if you're using these with video content so you don't get that weird delay between seeing someone's lips move and hearing the words. It's also pretty much a must have for gaming with Bluetooth headphones.

You'll probably need a separate Bluetooth transmitter to use it though. As far as I know, no phones, streaming sticks etc support the codec natively. In my case I use a little type C transmitter that's almost flush when inserted. It's designed for the Nintendo switch, but works with my phone, laptop and chromecast with Google TV (with a type c hub). It also allows 2 headphones to connect at the same time, but if they don't both support AptX LL then it's disabled on both while they're connected.
Right so per RTINGS.com:

Bose QC35 II
Weight: 0.52 lb
Clamping force: 0.69 lb

These Sennheiser PXC 550-II
Weight: 0.51 lb
Clamping force: 0.8 lb

Bose 700, which I sent back for being too uncomfortable as a QC35 II user
Weight: 0.58 lb
Clamping force: 1 lb

AirPods Max
Weight: 0.85 lb
Clamping Force: 1.2 lb

At this point I would not even consider the AirPods Max. That is 170% the weight and 150% the clamping force of these Sennheisers.

I have the original (not II), and they are fantastic. For $110, absolutely a steal.

Sites like rtings are an excellent resource, and quantitative measurements are important. I'd caution against reducing a concept like comfort down to 1 or 2 numbers though. There are so many factors in terms of material choices, balance, the linearity of the clamping force, head shape and size, depth and fit of the ear cups, etc that can make a huge difference.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for Airpods, just warning against putting too much emphasis on a few measurements.

Fair enough but practically speaking, let's put it this way. If the God-tier marshmallow fluff Bose puts in their ear cushions couldn't make their 45%-more-clamping-force headphones sufficiently comfortable for me, there is no material on the planet Apple could use to make their 75%-more-clamping-force headphones viable.

I have these. Would not recommend to anyone using this for PC/work that doesnt have an intimate knowledge of their system drivers and how to mess with Bluetooth issues.

I bought these to use for my windows PC but it can't seem to hold down a connection. Sometimes the mic will work, sometimes it won't. Sometimes you'll see the headset stereo and the hands free devices but you have to choose one or the other. I've basically resorted to keeping them plugged in if I want to talk to anyone in teams or discord.

I have seen this issue before in desktops. Sometimes the PC Bluetooth just sucks. I finally got a Bluetooth dongle. Since then, my connection and performance has been rock solid.

Awesome deal on some cans that I've long had my eyes on.
Has anyone had experience with the eBay refurbishment?
For something that will be intimately connected to my body I'd rather know that the product will be as close to new as possible.

I've gotten replacements from Sennhesier which are probably refurbished units. I've had no issues with my replacement headphones.

Grant you that, which is why their selling price tag feels so insane. But if you want the best noise cancellation out there, I believe AirPods Max is hard to beat right now.

i really wish these were usb-c charging, trying to not buy new stuff that charges with micro at this point. im also cheap though, and figure buying anything with usb-c charging and good specs any time soon will be much more expensive than this set right? any suggestions or should i just bite on these?

Christ imagine seeing the Bose, Sony, Wyze, and Sennheiser noise canceling headphones and STILL choosing Apple's mediocre product. Just why? Why do you people do this to yourself?

How does the devices switching work compared to the QC35 II?
That's the major I'm looking for in headphones now. I thought that QC35 is not that great at switching unless I decided to change them to something else and to my surprise mostly all of other headphones are not having this features at all! I have 2 laptops, phone and home media center I'm using headphones with and it is a MUST HAVE feature.
According to https://www.reddit.com/r/sennheiser/comments/9oby4q/pxc_550_device_switching/ [reddit.com] - you can connect multiple devices and they will automatically switch to one outputting the sound which is very annoying - notification from laptop will switch it to the laptop when I'm trying to listen to the music from the phone.
