Never again you'll see the trade-in an S10 and get the Note20 Ultra for $286. Best deal I've ever gotten on a device with no plan/contract involved.

I tried to order this as an upgrade on one of my Verizon lines & got as far as checkout only to be told that the phone is out of stock. Why did Walmart send me a device code to give to Verizon & Verizon verify my credit if the phone's not even available??? 🙄
I just finalized an order for Verizon and it went through. We'll see if it's fulfilled.

Did you do the trade-in during the check out? I didn't see the option or did I miss it?

It's only an Ok deal if you compare to regular price in Amazon or other big store.
Recently I lost my N20 U and because I have a lot of accessories (case, temper glass) so I need to buy the same phone.
In August 21, I checked Amazon, Ebay, Swappa. $949 new, $849 renew in Amazon, $800 open box in Swappa and ebay. When I checked Samsung it has good trade in with S10 plus at $500, it also give $50 accessories credit.
With the unlock phone, Earbud+ and smart tag I paid: $508.74+$220 (S10+ bought on swappa) = $728.74 - $50.8 (R cashback) = $678.

The poster is talking about Samsung.com likely unlocked version, the discounts fluctuate all the time

Sometimes Samsung discounts phone and than EPP/EDU discount and some people create a new account and a 5%, and while there trade in values fluctuate - there are times when they are quite good - so like $286 + 5% + EPP discount + $5-600 trade in gets you higher than $600 - not sure if CB is factored in that price
  • I could not get 5% to work, however my price was $323 net of $600 trade in for My Samsung - so in other words, that puts the Note 20U ultra at $923 before trade for unlocked version, a little less because the EPP would calculate on higher amount
  • It included $50 accessory credit from Samsung store and I have $50 pending cashback (not super confident it will be paid).
  • I also got them to issue a $30 store credit to offset the lack of earbuds, this was an alternative to 5% which actually only equated to $15 because they base it on value net of discounts
The time before with Samsung deal in SS.com you even got more like "coupon code", "return trick" 10% off total order or price match. SS no more do the P.M and return trick seems not working anymore.

How much longer will this phone be supported with updates, both security and Android?

I'm still running an S8 and it no longer gets any updates from Samsung even though it is still a solid phone. This lack of longer term support has me looking to an iPhone 12 or 13 for my next phone.

I tried hard on the 10% trick but only offered me 5%. 5% only $15 and change because on value after trade in, I took $30 store credit instead

If it was unlocked and a straight price I would pay that. I'm still using my S8+ I bought in October 2017 for a bit over $700. These newer ones just aren't dropping in price. This S8 is seriously the best made phone I could imagine; the screen seems indestructible, it's been in the ocean with a charger being stuffed into a sandy USB port afterwards, and AccuBattery is showing it's health at 93% after four years. My reason for wanting a new one is the lack of updates and ram.
I'm running a s8 right now still also. Don't want to give it up but the battery is finally taking a sh*t and it's slow af. It only fast chargers on select chargers/batter packs? Bought it in Nov. of 2017.

Try cleaning your USB-C pins to restore fast charging. Turn your phone off and use an acid brush and >90% alcohol to clean the pins. Blow it out and let it dry for a few seconds then turn it back on.

I, uhm, usually don't question random posts like this, but how did you lose your phone without losing the case and tempered glass accessories? Also, 3 posts before this you said you bought the s10+ from ebay and now you said swappa. Seems inconsistent.

Considering it's still the newest Note model, and a new one not coming until next year, I would think quite a while.

Agree with all of this. I still am using my Note 8 with no issues, other than the SD slot is f'd up. Corrupts any sd card I put in. Learned to live without it though using my OneDrive more.

I just can't see spending $600 on an equivalent piece of equipment (aside from the 5G).
note 8 is painfully slow. I upgraded after almost 4 years.
It is a night and day difference.
Note 20 ultra is a worthy upgrade.

you are wasting your previous time waiting.

I am a heavy user. i have 10 gmail accounts+ and i like to use chrome browser instead of apps at times.

note20 ultra Web browsing is amazingly fast.

note 8 lags like hell with modern web pages.
it was the top dog 4 years ago. But it really sucks.

Oh, Verizon's is only 27 pages? AT&T's is 63 pages...🤔
