In my book Amex is doing everything right.
As long as I can utilize those Amex offers I don't care whether they are shitter small shop or name brand store. Frankly all the Amex offer I got this year has pretty much offset my annual fee.
Sometimes it is just ridiculous that people think that a credit card can make you look better or higher class... I know people flocking to the metal platinum card when it released and I am still using my plastic version.. frankly it just a CARD I dont usually take it out my wallet for more 30 secs why would I want to increase the weigh of my wallet
Can't recall if Amex gives any grace period on full/ prorated refund upon cancelling after annual fee billing, but if they do, I would cancel T minus 2 days, where T is any grace period's end date.
That way you get to use it for a few additional days/ weeks for no cost.
But yeah Chase really cannibalized the card with the rework of their freedom/freedom unlimited.

I also get more value out of my points by using transfer partners but yes the pay yourself back is nice
TIA

I'm unclear on one thing, though--statement credits like this typically have an end date, like they work for six months or something. I wasn't able to find one. anyone know?
Wow.
TIA
