Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless

They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.

Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

Is it just the standard amex platinum? I can't find info about the Delta platinum. I'm not paying with that and chancing it
I have the offer on my Delta AMEX, however, it is only for one month!! Beware, YMMV!!

Outside of slickdeals, how many Amex Platinum Members are big Walmart Shoppers? I just dont understand what Amex is doing with the Plat card lately.
while i agree with you at a conceptual level about walmart (they couldn't pay me to walk in a store), walmart+ is entirely different animal. It allows free shipping and curbside (i think either way it's free) but it allows me to get my products (commoditized products only as they're the same anywhere) while i charge my EV. With that said Amazon Prime would have been a better deal but it's not as worthless as people think

You're going to have an unhappy shopper if you tip them nothing. Shopping is a lot more work than a restaurant food delivery.
thats why they are paid by their employers with benefits. Do you tip your financial advisor? do you tip your car salesman? Confused

I don't see whether this is also for authorized users / additional cards - has anyone found that?

I can't imagine the Venn diagram of people who have an Amex Platinum and people who shop at Walmart to overlap much

You must be confusing it with the centurion card. Platinum is not a premium card anymore. The high annual fee is offset by a bunch of perks and regular retention bonuses, so everyone must be having it by now.

The benefit is odd because most likely already have a yearly membership, so the "monthly" cost coverage won't help unless you jump through a TON of hoops.

And, for those thinking a Plat card holder wouldn't use Walmart, you should reconsider. Walmart.com has improved vastly. It's now on par with Amazon and often has faster delivery.

Still a premium card. The fee is not offset by the perks because a lot of those perks are useless, FYI.

Nope. Not a premium card anymore. Just a niche card for people who know the use case for it. Uber credit, lounge benefits, hotel credit, airline credit, entertainment credit - these are definitely not useless if you fall into that category

I signed up but will probably never use it. Though with Whole Foods bringing in a delivery fee now it may be worth seeing what Walmart carries.

Any order from Walmart of $35+ is free. So I just order at least for that amount and then return in store what I don't need 😜🤣
