I would go with the 128gb because it's for my son. Who is going to use it for basic stuff. Heck, it's cheaper the. The Air 4, which is what he wanted. But the 256gb may have more resale value. With that said, I could only snap two 255gb. One for my son and one for me. Looking to get 1 more for daughter
Lucky you, I thought Walmart would have 1 per person/address limit on these limited stock items, like the consoles.
-It is the correct version. 5th generation with model number 3H901LL/A (this model# differs from the retail model #).
-It came in the usual white box that iPads come in BUT it's obviously not the retail box because there isn't the usual spec info on the backside.
-The power brick and usb-c cable are there.
-Scratch-free. Immaculate physically.
-Came with iOS 14.7. Updating to iOS15 right now.
-Warranty good until 8/22/22.
-Apple DOES NOT recognize the serial number as a valid trade-in. So if you picked this up thinking you can trade it in to Apple to make some quick gains, not going to work.
Someone had mentioned the demo version may have some limitations. I have not heard about this but I am going to run it through some more tests tonight. If you heard of the limitations, let me know so I can try to see if it's true.

I brought up the demo issue. There were some Reddit discussions of people buying demo units online and micro center and That they couldn't download any apps and couldn't take it off demo mode. Most of it had to do with older Air and first 4 generations of the original iPad. Good to hear that everything looks good!

I wonder if it's because those stores didn't reset the unit before selling it. When I turned on the iPad, it booted into the initial setup exactly like the retail versions. So far, software-wise, nothing seems different than a retail version. Once iOS15 finishes installing, I'll log in with my iCloud and try downloading apps to see if it works.
Looked up the model number for the 128gb. Only find info from Walmart and vipoutlet (I think they are the liquidator for WalMart). Not sure if they were intended for store demo units or why they have a different sku?
The 256 gb has the retail sku.

If the warranty is good till 8/22/22 that means it activated and first used on 8/22/21. The one year Apple warranty starts when the device is powered on.
I was charged on the day of order (probably because I used PayPal). The status shows "Shipping, Delayed, arrives today" but clicking on 'Track shipment', it shows 'Shipped, Arrives by Tue, Oct 19'. (highly doubt I would receive it today as FedEx still shows 'Shipment information sent to FedEx".)
Status finally changed to "Arrived at FedEx location" - 26 hours after label was created!

When I check the warranty, it gave me the option to add applecare+ but I didn't go far in the process to see if it works.
That means you can add it. Normally it will say how many days left you have to add AppleCare. Wow that's a W AppleCare will cover everything warranty wise

Yes $487 is a great price if you need 256 gb. For me even 128gb is enough so I am eyeing that 365 deal
