No one should buy this unless they intend on flashing it to the 68U--which is NOT difficult if you have a bit of computer literacy.

The 68U is still supported (last firmware update 5/21/21) and will be supported if you flash the firmware. If you don't flash the firmware, you'll be stuck on T-Mobile firmware that is many years old now.
Bought one $50 4 yrs ago. Flashed, still runs like a champ.
I have been using this for years (flashed it on 2nd year for performance boost) and am still happy with it. No desire to upgrade to pricey wifi6 router just yet especially everything is running fine.

I owned this router. Worked great but no software updates and no security fixes for a few years now, unless you want to hassle with flashing it to a ASUS RT-AC68U/P. I dumped it for an eero 6.

Never got the one I bought to take the flash so it just sits on a shelf in the garage.

I have two of these I got for free from T-Mobile. I've been wanting to add a third unit to help cover more area.

So, I should at least definitely flash the two I already have?

I tried for hours to flash this thing to a 68U and couldn't get it to work. I'm pretty tech savvy too. Maybe I'll give it another try.

Anyone using this for AI mesh and if so, how's the performance?

Frankly, I wouldn't buy one from this seller and use it without flashing it. Who knows what is on there.

That said, I use one of these in my house (it's one of 2 APs), and each of my daughters has one in their houses. It works great.

I have 3 of these in my townhouse apartment (flashed to the 68U & set up as AI Mesh system) and the system runs flawlessly. No issues ever for several years since it went up.

What kind of speeds are you getting compared to your ISP speed?
