Technically you can use a paperclip to enter recovery mode but we are no longer cavemen and rcm jigs are readily available for the price of a McChicken on Amazon and Ebay.
Not true.
"Patched" just means the ipatches they apply at the factory which cannot be applied afterwards, so if it's "unpatched" it's hackable forever regardless of what firmware it's on, see https://arstechnica.com/gaming/20...-hackable/

To put this into perspective; You can overclock the console device to run games better, you can download any games you want for free and never pay for switch games again, you can pirate amiibo files and emulate them as if you owned all amiibos, you can use the nintendo switch as an android tablet or linux computer, you can backup your save files so you can have multiple animal crossing towns, etc.
All because of a security exploit possible by virtue of Nvidia's Tegra processor. In all seriousness, Nintendo's security was solid but they made a poor choice by using Nvidia.
For whatever reason, Nintendo decided not to go through with 4k as a feature and it sits there disabled. No doubt because the Switch games probably look horrendous (and thus not up to their quality standards) as Switch software is designed for 1080p at most. Tbh, we're better off.
In that same datamine a new model of Switch was discovered (nicknamed "Calcio"), which is a dock-only, battery-less model lacking a cartridge slot. This might be the true Switch Pro or simply be a developer test model...

When you trade in, do you need to give them the dock too? (I'm assuming yes)

edit: unpatched is unpatched, so still vulnerable I think
