Nice. I got mine for 279. Overall I am happy with it.

onemesh helps boosting coverage, but speed is much worse than dedicated mesh. you can't mix and match it with deco mesh.

This thing is huge, about the size of a mini chromebook. super thick. Antennas are fixed and can't be adjusted.

My house is 2k sqft, single floor, router is in the center of the house, coverage is sufficient.

Sometimes it worked after a reboot but only for a short time. I called the ISP to make sure it's not their fault. It wasn't. Then, about 6 months ago TP Link released a firmware update which appears to solve the problem. It's working fine since then. I highly recommend you apply the lastest firmware to get the best functionality.

Bought this at launch for $300. It's decent. Got plenty of coverage from it. However, for the first 6 months or so I couldn't get the maximum speed from my provider (Spectrum), I was only getting less than half of it. Sometimes it worked after a reboot but only for a short time. I called the ISP to make sure it's not their fault. It wasn't. Then, about 6 months ago TP Link released a firmware update which appears to solve the problem. It's working fine since then. I highly recommend you apply the lastest firmware to get the best functionality.

Similar experience. I actually put my old AC2600 TP-Link router back in place for about 6 months because it simply performed better on my GbE FIOS. (Too lazy to complain - try to send back)

Then while looking up another issue on the TP-Link web site, I saw there was a recent firmware update so I put it back in place and tried it again. Much better. Not sure I see a huge difference in performance between the two routers, but it's at least working the way I expect it to.

I would wait unless you need one now.
Costco had this router for $200 and it was not "flying of the shelf"
The comments at the time were outdated kernel and security, so I bought the Asus AX88U.
Not sure if it improved from 2 years ago.

How is the 88U? I'm debating between this and the 88U. Are you using Merlin firmware? How does the range compare between the two routers?
