Carbon wheels with rim bakes are not good for going down hill if you are not careful. Heat will toast your wheels.

Lol at people worrying about rim brake carbon rims for anything but little hills. I'm a 190 pound road racer with 7500 yearly miles on a set of carbon rims on rim brakes and I routinely ride Colorado mountains, including 14ers. Have never had a single issue. This is all just disc brake marketing propaganda.

You're worried about the longevity of rim brake carbon wheels like these Edcos, but you're also okay with buying no-name carbon wheels from generic vendors in China? There is a lot of skill and technology, and expense, that goes into building a durable, lightweight carbon wheel - I would not trust my life or my wallet to a no-name Ali Express carbon wheelset (with no warranty).

Also, these aren't that light??? Please name me one sub 1400 gram wheelset under $1,000. If 1400 grams "isn't that light," then you seem to be suggesting you can find a wheelset in, what, 1300 grams? What would you consider "acceptably light" for a carbon wheelset... and then please provide a link, I'm interested.

Yes... That orbea has a Shimano group set and the Reynolds come with a Shimano hub option.

I'd also check out the reviews for bike bling. They seem to say they have a bike in stock when they don't and will try to upsell you all the while taking forever to refund you your money
I actually got the bike last year, had to wait few months because it was a pre order when I oredred it but they only put that in the description a week after I ordered it.

rim brake carbon wheels are fine if you only bike around flat areas/small hills. definitely dont recommend if you regularly bomb down hill or bike in the wet.
agree that these are not that light for carbon rim brake wheels.
the value is the 2yr warranty and domestic supplier.
otherwise it's cheaper to order directly from the china manufactures.

I pair these with Walmart bikes and sell them for $1,000. They look up the wheel and it sells itself. Easy sell. Thanks op!

You talking about a used bike here? Even then a good bike with disc brakes will be over $600.
There are "good bikes" in every price/value category. Not everyone needs the latest/greatest/lightest/etc/etc. There are very nice Treks/Giants/Specialized/Cannondales/etc collecting dust in people's garages and being posted on FB all the time for under 500. Just check daily. Most ppl want a fast sale.

I agree that having the lightest wheels isn't for everyone. Not every rider will be under 130lbs and look like a pro cyclists who need the lightest components. You have to look at your weight/size and buy a wheel set that will not only support your weight but also the type of environment you are riding in (flats, hills, wet, muddy, dry etc)

I have the Borg 50c rim brakes and ride hills all the time and have no issues so far. I also don't ride my brakes doing down hill that much Smilie. If my wheels ever warp I can always rebuild using the skewers and hub I have right now.

Look up Feder wheels. Sub 1300g wheelsets with high quality hubs and they stand behind the carbon hoops they're using.

Do you summit multiple 14ers on your bike or just ride on them?

Personally, I wouldn't buy carbon wheels without a lifetime warranty.
