So are many other games on Switch. When it comes to making money, Nintendo operates at a whole different level! They are banking on their glorious past and not doing enough new things.

New to switch, but did some research on their games, apparently Nintendo games hold their value very well even within the major retailers. Has to be a pretty bad game for the price to drop.

It's an excellent game, especially for fans of classic 2d mario. Both this and the Wii version are amazing platformers.

It's two standalone Wii U games on one cartridge. I played both on the Wii U and loved them. I got the Switch version so I could play 2-player with my wife and complete the gold medal challenges that I abandoned years ago. I got the Switch cartridge at GameStop for around $35 last year and it was money well spent.

Yes, digital has dropped to $39.99 quite a few times. According to dekudeals.com, all-time lows were $38.99 for digital and $26.99 for physical @ GameStop on Cyber Monday 2020.

No, it's a good game. It's old and also a "reboot". Typically that makes it a candidate for occassional deep discounting.

During BF and CM a lot of great first party games that are 2+ years old are $30-35 door busters. I would say, don't judge a game's quality by it's price. Plenty of $$$$ games that are horrible. Plenty of great games that go on sale or never had a high $. When considering a game I usually read the reviews and watch some game play on YouTube to see if it's something that would interest me.
