IIRC Critter Ridder is basically spicy pepper granules to persuade critters to go elsewhere. It was the only thing that worked when I had raccoons and squirrels eating holes in my roof and throwing my insulation out into the yard.
I just googled Liquid Fence and it's similar, cinnamon, citronella, garlic, etc.
So, maybe don't jump to conclusions?
I put it down yesterday. It was the perfect damp after rain kind of day with the slight mist that continued for several hours. You want the grass damp or wet for it to apply best. It sticks to the weeds and kills them as well.
It takes several seasons but this knocks down the weeds just like it says on the bag. There is now a night and day difference between my yard and my neighbors. We used to have the same weeds all over, and now my lawn is finally a lawn.
I don't mean to rant but I have that kind of neighbor too with tons of dandelions and no care to manage them. I spend hundreds on lawn care items like this to kill weeds only to have the spots taken by new seedlings blown over from his yard. Sometimes I wanna just go over there in the middle of the night with some weed and feed.
Wow...killing wildlife for living their best life.

It's a big bag, I usually use Scott's triple action, this stuff seems cheaper / finer than that. Mowed then applied yesterday before a light rain, we'll see how it goes, still have tons left as I usually use two small bags of triple action
Is there a reason you mowed your lawn first? I can understand if you have weeds that are low, and under the grass's canopy, but if you weeds protrude above your grass, they should be left uncut to give the most surface area for this to adhere to.
This should be applied to a wet lawn (early morning dew is perfect) and it should neither be watered in nor have rain within 48 hrs of application. This product works by sticking to wet grass/weeds for a day or two, undisturbed.
Btw...according to the ingredients, this appears to be identical to the yellow (spring time) bag except the potassium is 3 on the yellow and 6 here.

Walmart has 5000 sq ft southern grass weed n feed for $5.75 (normally $22-30?) in some southern parts (I'm in NW FL). HD match their vigero brand weed n feed to around $5 as well.
Edit; for st aug, zoysia, centipede grasses

I went to the Home Depot last night and it was still the same price @ $40.
Apply when weeds are actively growing (when daytime temperatures are constantly between 60F and 90F).
If you live in Midwest, the window is shutting down for this year as the temperatures are dropping quickly.
