Plug in model $14.60. Uses AA batteries instead of 9v for backup.

Amazon [amazon.com]

Plug in model with ppm logging $22.48. Uses 9v battery (use lithium because alkalines aren't high enough voltage)

CO detectors can be placed anywhere because it mixes with all of the air rather than rising like smoke does.

These are great for when you go camping. Leave inside the tent if you use a buddy heater or something similar.
Plug in model is $14.60. Down from alleged normal price of $29.99.

From the EPA: "Because carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and also because it may be found with warm, rising air, detectors should be placed on a wall about 5 feet above the floor."
Seems like the plug in model isn't ideal since outlets are generally 18 inches of the floor.

Been waiting for a deal on plug in ones, so good finds. Battery ones are a PITA because alkaline 9v batteries aren't high enough voltage, so they will chirp after just a month or so of use. You've got to buy the expensive lithium 9v batteries to avoid the chirp.

This one which gives the ppm readout is also on sale apparently.

OP, you might want to link the other 2 plug-in models in your post to increase interest.

we bought this in march of 2018 for our boys room, been working fine without low battery chirp since then. test it every now and then and appears to still be good based on that.

paid $16.84 for it back then

Confusing information, supposedly it has a 7 year life warranty and also a 5 and 10 year limited warranty. I suppose pick whatever the shortest???

Anyway, from what I understand CO detectors always only last 7 years or so. My previous plug in style started chirping nonstop after that time has passed telling me to discard it. I now use the combined fire/co ceiling detectors but they should also only have a 7 year life from what I understand.

Don't forget "generator," cheaply made Chinese no-name generator, especially the old ones.

My generator triggers CO alarm instantly, all the time, levels that's good enough to knock your pets into eternal abyss. 100+ PPM is deadly, whether if you've two legs or four.

You may say, why not just change the carburelator? Do it if you can, but most cheap ones advertised in this site, there is NO replacement.

I will never ever buy Kidde products again.

Wasted so much money on their smoke alarms only for them to go defective within 1 month of purchase. Years later I find out they have a recall on them, as with a TON of their other products.

Be smart, don't buy Kidde products.
