This SIM can be used to get port-in number. Use any gift card with very low balance to activate for cell minutes for 3USD this should make it a non-VOIP number.
While idea of freedpoop is good, its hard to believe them as good as they claimed to be, when they can charge you back after 3 years of dormant stage.
I got a new card sent by Discover after they did investigation on why fp charged my account 6 times in 3 months.

Sounds like FreedomPop has never changed from the old days when they used to slip in little unexpected charges months and years after not using the service.

Always use Virtual cards for all these, and have short expiry or deactivate soon after.
Citicards (except Costco) are the only issuer doing this, it looks like.
I tried privacy.com , bailed when it said will need to apply for credit card through them. I'm saving credit card slots only for big bonuses like Chase Preferred..

Capital One lets you create a unique # for each retailer, and if someone else puts a charge on it, that gets rejected.
They also expire after a period of non usage, and each can be individually locked and unlocked.
1) Dollar limit (total would be good. BofA used to let this. Citi now has Max Daily Limit. can be okay)
2) Custom Expiry Date
Does CapitalOne provide these ?
No dollar limit/day, but you can set an alert for a charge of a certain amount or higher.
It does have a custom expiry date.
Discover used to have virtual cards too, but I think they did away with it.
Freaking awesome for paying for things that require you to call or jump through hoops to cancel. Just turn the payment virtual # off or delete it. Problem solved!

they could still send you to collection if they couldn't charge your credit card.

Privacy recently switched from Debit to Credit on their internal system to make it accepted by more merchants. There was no hard check reported on my credit when I did the conversion recently. I don't have a "line of credit" with privacy. It's still a great product. The one downside is that I can't earn credit card points with privacy. It's basically an ACH transfer that uses a credit card number instead of a routing number.

Might be fun, since they never provided the service they're asking payment for.
For stuff you pay after services rendered, perhaps.
Just scraped off Ooma last month. They want you to call and let them try to talk you out of it.
They did send a few desperate emails.
