Funny, 32" used to be a TV size, and I used to get told off for sitting too close

We had 26" and was told the same. CRT. Those were the days.

I bought one of these when the $150 off savings first showed up. If you don't have a $50 off $500 code, chat with customer service and ask for one since it will stack after adding a filler item.

I like the monitor, but it's my first 4k screen and haven't directly compared it to other options in person. I'm using it for coding and other productivity work where IPS is typically preferred to VA panels, but that may be subjective.

The stand is great, and I don't see any dead pixels. Brightness is fine, though it's far from real HDR (and I turned off HDR). It's mildly annoying that the monitor does not auto-switch between the inputs. I have a PC connected via DP and a macbook via USB-C and have to manually go back and forth (four clicks on the little joystick). A proper external KVM would avoid this problem, but other monitors support auto-switching.

Coming from an old 30" 2560x1600 monitor, I was impressed by how thin and light this screen is. I also like getting sharper text and slightly more screen real estate with ~1.25x scaling. On that front, I thought 4k gave you a ton of pixels, but something like 6k or more would be much nicer since you could do 2x scaling and still have 3000+ horizontal pixels.

Like this idea- How do i connect 1 mouse and keyboard to access both machines?
I had the same dilemma you did and tried using a physical KVM switch and got annoyed. I finally stumbled upon this software called Synergy (made by Symless) and it's essentially a software KVM. https://symless.com/synergy

I paid for this software and have it set up on my Mac Mini (personal computer) and Dell Latitude Laptop (work device). I'm able to make the Mac the main host and use the Apple Keyboard and Trackpad to control both devices. It really moves between screens and devices "symlessly".

This set up does require two monitors connected separately to each device.

I would give this software a shot. It really elevated my WFH set up since I'm using 2 different devices simultaneously and only wanted to use one set of keyboard and mouse (and trackpad in my case).

You probably already thought of this, but it would be much more economical to purchase two 24" monitors (to use with two computers). If two 24" widescreen monitors seem too wide, you can always pay a bit more to get two pivoting stands so you can rotate them into portrait configuration.
Only if you can tolerate having 24 inch max as your screen size. I can't go back to anything smaller than 27" especially for work with multiple word docs, spreadsheets, and looking up databases.

Is it possible to clamp this into a grommet hole already built into my desk?
Yep, it comes with a separate kit to install the mount to desks that have pre-drilled monitor mount hole.

Great recommendation. Synergy is a great tool. Microsoft Garage's "Mouse without Borders" also does nearly the same thing and is free.

I bought two of these before they sold out. Wish they sold the arm by itself because it's very solid. Be mindful if you're feeding a lot of cables through the channel because there isn't a lot of room.

My displays don't have issues and I'm very happy. I came from dual 27" 2718q's that went bad over time.

Can I use this without the stand? In other words, is the monitor base flat and big enough to stand on its own?

How much video card power do you need to drive two 4K display? I thought about doing the same but I'm not sure if I can make it work.

I'm running that on a mid 2018 MacBook Pro without any issues or the fans spinning up. I've ran three 4k displays without any hiccups, but in that scenario the fans were running at higher speeds.

In my pc I have a nvidia 3060 which also has zero problems.

No. This won't work especially since the controls to change inputs and then the display on/off is on the bottom.

a lot of keyboards and mice support multiple devices. you just push a button to go back and forth.

I believe Logitech even has software that would allow seemless transitions.

Logitech makes keyboards & mice that allow you to work across 3 computers. In fact, with Logitech mouse Flow, you can copy from one computer, & paste it into another computer.

Yes. Needs to be at least 5/8 big. Comes with the through mount
