This was 69 a couple of months ago. Now even cheaper at 59. A brand name soundbar with a wireless subwoofer at this price is surely a great deal. Happy shopping!

It's not really the same. $29 is wireless only whereas this has HDMI ARC, 3.5mm audio jack, and also digital optical along with Bluetooth. Also peak output is 70W with the subwoofer.
You're right.
People want to pay Corolla prices and bring home a Porsche. This product is fine and I just picked one up for my computer sound setup. Beats my old little Taotronics sound bar.

Pass on 2.1... get something with a center channel. It's sad to see people not understanding that and buying this crap.

Please link one that you'd recommend or tell us what to look for in product titles that would indicate it has a center channel.

That would be a 3.1 if you don't want rear speakers (5.1, etc. if you want rear speakers). One of the primary benefits of a soundbar (for tv anyway) is much better vocals (dialog, musical vocals, etc.), which generally come from the center channel (it's about 70% of the sound usually). I really don't know why they make 2.1's - or as many as they do anyway (well, I do - to make money because they're cheaper) - it makes little sense to buy one. I'm not up on which ones to recommend as I haven't purchased one in a while, so the models/features/etc. change all the time.
