No last year's version

I bought this TV in February from Best Buy for $1389+tax. Very happy with it.
amazon QnA seems to agree:

Q: Does this tv support 120 hz?
A: Yes, but not at 4K. You can get 120 Hz at 1440p and 1080p.
I have had absolutely terrible luck with TCL TVs. My first one was very nice but the 3 I have tried since then have been garbage breaking down in 6 months.

Maybe, but supply chain shortages cannot dictate price paid. Sit on the sidelines. When product finally arrives, the glut will result in a historic price crash. Save some money for that.
I'm with you, I'm plenty patient. My newest TV is over 10 years old in my house. My bedroom TV is probably 15 years old.

But people are not patient and won't wait it out, so the prices aren't going anywhere while the supply chain is the way it is.

If this had HDMI 2.1, it would be a no-brainer. Maybe next year.

Is this the NEW one with the 4k 120hz capability? I thought those had Google TV so wondering how there is a Roku version.
No, but there is an 8K model that should be able to do that.

This TV was $799 on Monday, not sure it will be much lower with mini-led.

I think there are a lot of people claiming that the 75" Hisense TVs are ips panels, different than the VA panels that rtings reviewed.

Did you end up pulling the trigger on this? It did look like rtings "confirmed" the 75" u6g as a VA panel, but I'm still kind of skeptical.

I have this same exact TV. I have had 3 service calls. First one, they replaced a board in it and it was the wrong board. Because of that, they approved a replacement so I received a refurbished model. Then that one went south, and they replaced it with another refurbished model. Never buying TCL again. Love the picture, but I'll also point out the the Roku interface runs incredibly slow. Plus this is a big TV to be having to take off the wall and to have to get serviced. They'll come to your house, and they tech usually brings a second person... huge inconvenience to have to go through this 3 times and each time took well over a month.

My 55P605 was a good set. I hate my current 65R625. The input latency is good, but the pixel response time makes me sick when playing some games. It's a big smeary mess that makes me nauseous. Also Roku has home screen ads that take up half the screen. Just love that my kids get fed ads for garbage B-tier movies, or Striptease, or whoever else buys Roku ad space. The TV has an unchangeable hardwired DNS so I believe it can't be circumvented by router-level pi-hole configuration. TCL was a "good cheap" option after Vizio TVs, but I'm ready for something nicer when I upgrade.

If you want android go with the Hisense U8G. If you want Roku go with this. That's how I made my decision at least. I ordered the 75" on Amazon. Anyone that has access to the Army and Air Force Exchange can pick up the 65" at $999 right now.
