You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

They ask for DOB and License number (they input this info) for trade in purpose. I asked why do you need my License info? It's a law they said. An absolute lie. I said I have traded several phones into Samsung this year and last and no info was required. They had no answer. I canceled the order. Shady behavior.

They want to make sure the phone is not stolen. If they find out the phone is stolen they can charge you back. It's a fair practice

Actually this is little worse as you pay tax on the full price before trade in value. So raising the price to original you get to pay extra tax on the $100 value. So if you are in California this deal will cost you $10 more and if you are in DE…it's the same deal

Was the Samsung mail in? Then it's local law requiring Best buy to do that. You can try another city nearby.

I am wondering if this stacks like the apple trade in deal where you trade in with apple and get $790 for the pro max and the. $200 over 24 months with tmobile if you keep the current account (or $500 if you upgrade to magenta max)

Anyone know?

I am on a grandfather tmobile classic plan. I would trade in my 12 pro max and keep my classic plan. Will that allow me to get $975 at bestbuy for trade in and then $200 over 24months on bill credit with tmobile?

Yep same line I had the 12pm eip was on. Since the bb deal isn't an eip, it doesn't affect the plan or the current eip at all.

I did this a month or so ago when I traded my 12 mini for the 13. My thoughts (if I'm wrong , please correct me):

1. Answer the questions in the BB website (add the phone you want/ put in upgrade/ put in the phone you have to upgrade/ they will give you the trade in value/ apply value to the new phone
2. Tax is applied only to the cost AFTER trade in is taken in account
3. Enter final info (your T-Mobile number/ SSN
4. Pay for the phone online.
5. Buy screen protector/ case for the new phone
6. Go to the store after pick up confirmation
7. No need to change plans.
8. If phone is still financed, either pay if off in full or continue to pay off the month installments

Some advice- make sure you make up your data to iCloud (might need to up the data storage if needed) and reset/ unlock find my phone/ transfer via iCloud. If I had to do it over again, I would just transfer phone to phone in store.

Overall, pretty straightforward.

Hope this helps some.

It depend on the State and local tax law, some state charge before discount price, as I know least Mississippi and someone mention in the thread the California.
