You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

Good luck!

Your monthly credits continue, even if the device is paid off. So you would pay it off, unlock it, then continue to get the remaining balance credits each month
Quote from berombeu :
No need to pay it off because you trade-in with BB not T-mo. You still getting your monthly credit as long as you keep that line active. I already traded-in 2 phones that still under EIP.
Quote from XealO :
What's not to get? It's simple. Keep your line active and tmobile won't know the difference.
What good is the trade in to Best Buy if it's still locked to t-mo (and locked to my account maybe as well?) I assume they pay for traded in handsets because they re sell them? Not trying to be a pain, but it makes a huge difference if my 20+ months of bill credits stop and the balance of the iphone 12 comes due. If Best Buy sells my old iphone 12 on the secondary market, T-mo will know it's not active on my account anymore once somebody else activates it on their's. I get what you're saying as far as if I just keep paying every month t-mo isn't likely to give a crap and everything just rolls along as it has been, eip payments and monthly credits wise. Just trying to make sure I'm not farking up my bill credits though, since that would be a deal breaker.

fark me, what a great farking deal. Best Buy only charges taxes on the final amount as well so you can get a 13 Pro for just $25+tax by trading in a Pro Max.

backup from icloud, do I have to resign in my apps again? I don't have to resign when I'm syncing with the phone close to each other.
It all depends on the rep that you get. In the other thread, a few people had good reps and were able to do the iPhone to iPhone backup. Some offer to help you for a $40 fee. And yes, iCloud backup usually makes you sign back in to some apps. And an annoying thing is signing back in to your emails. Especially if you have several email accounts.

You should keep checking. Periodically stores will pop up with stock. You have to actually go into the map to pinpoint the stores, since it will not say on the product page. The store with stock will appear first.

Key point, you cannot add the phone from the locator map page. You must add the phone to your cart, enter trade in info and then when you check out, you choose the store with the stock. that's how I got my Pro Max a few days ago after someone said the LIC store had stock.

Wrong, you can contact T-Mo via Twitter to get your phone unlocked. You clearly have no farking idea what you are rambling on about.

I've never traded a phone in to Best Buy. Does it work the same as at a T-Mobile store? Do I just bring the phone? Or do I need the charger, charger cable, box, ear buds, etc?
Just the phone.

Thanks; I was just wondering how some people on here are seeing "Available on [Date]" instead of just seeing "Unavailable at [Location]." I do think the reason I'm getting the verification error is that there is no stock nearby.

Another question, can anyone confirm whether in-store purchase has one pay for taxes before trade-in value or if it works the same way as online? I was offered by customer service to shop in person for this deal today.

Either they(BB) made a deal with T-Mobile where the phone will still work but remain locked to TMO even if you quit paying or maybe they are going to recycle them for their precious chips? Either way, if you quit paying, I doubt whoever gets these second hand will be get screwed.

So this is mostly a deal for those with newer iPhones right? So if I have an older iPhone that gets little trade in value there's no deal here. Unless I'm missing some deal that can be combined with this. Am I?

Most of us took that chance and traded in iPhone 12's that were under eip from the Mother's Day deal.

We'll see if anything happens

It was a better deal last week when the iPhone 13s were also $100 off

nm they also upped the trade in by $100 so it's a wash

$10 less overall than the earlier version of this deal if you have an iPhone XS to trade in, the trade in value increased $10

Similar deal if you had an iPhone 12/pro/max to trade in.

But yes, if you have an older device it's not so great
